Ehlana and Ethan:
Seeing Dad off on his trip to the city made for any early start to our day, but we followed that up with some cuddle time with Mom and Silkie; had a nap; and then got started on our day with Tai Chi by the river. Breakfast was standard school-day fare; and then we moved on and had a good day at school that included some bonus outdoor time thanks to a fairly-decent weather day. A high temperature near-sixty had everything to do with choosing an after-school play time with our friends, but we also picked that over playing at the lab or archives today because we’re supposed to get snow overnight and into tomorrow – along with a drop in temperature to below freezing. Mother Nature might just be a few weeks late for her April Fool’s joke on us, but we can’t really complain; since we have had a pretty good winter and early-spring compared to normal.
As usual, we biked the trails and explored around the park with Naomi, Aiden, and some other friends. That was the entertainment highlight of our day, but we’ve also had fun with Mom since getting home too – starting with a hamburgers-and-fries easy-dinner; and then moving on to work and studying in the office; an early end to that work; and Jacuzzi or bath time that two of us needed after the biking and park adventures.
That’s all we have for news from home, but before we head off to dreamland; let’s do a quick pandemic update.
While it seems that nearly-everyone is sick of the pandemic restrictions, we’re currently hitting new daily and weekly highs for the worldwide totals of new cases. That isn’t true for deaths yet, but that is a lagging number; and could go up despite the better medical care available now and the vaccines. India has the worst outbreak right now – at least when it comes to daily totals, but at more than five-million new cases a week; it ought to be clear that we’re not-yet past the worst of this pandemic. Milestones that we’ve hit recently include more than one-hundred-and-forty-million total confirmed cases and three-million deaths worldwide, and while the actual totals are likely quite a bit higher; it’s sobering to point out that the total cases isn’t quite two-percent of the world-population.
Taking those thoughts any further would just be scary, since we don’t really want to ponder dealing with pandemic outbreaks that continue for years or a decade; so let’s just wrap this up and call it a night. Getting up early and shoveling snow might be in our future – though we’ll hope that the snow comes slowly-enough that it just melts on the warmer ground. We’ll let you know how that goes for us, but that’s it for now; so, until next time...
