Happy 76th Birthday, Grandpa!
Ehlana:
Our dinner, movies, cuddle time, and
sleepover in the lounge were all great last night. Ethan and Aiden had some work to do too as we
got the tail-end of the snow and ice into the evening, but that didn’t take
them too-long; and that outdoor work did get them out of the post-dinner
clean-up; so it wasn’t all bad for them.
They took care of the morning remnants of
the weather clean-up this morning – and got out of the breakfast clean-up and
some chores around the house, but then they helped out indoors too while we
waited for Dad to get home. There was
another blast of work to do once he was here; we had lunch for six; and then
Naomi and Aiden moved on to spend the rest of the day with their families while
we’ve had a quiet day here at home with just the four of us.
I’ll insert the birthday news I have for
Grandpa’s special day here, but we had our video chat with him at lunchtime –
and his special day was nearly-over by then thanks to the time change. That worked out for us because we got to hear
all about the kid-rated parts of his birthday adventures; and we’ll try not to
even think about any plans grandma might have for him for the rest of the night
local time for them. There are some
things that kids don’t need to know about their grandparents! ;^)
Moving along, while our day was not as
exciting as travel adventures have been for our grandparents, we have still had
fun while just hanging out together and enjoying a break from the busy. We’ve played some games, had some music fun,
and watched a couple of movies. Mom and
I followed the evening movie with some quality Jacuzzi time; and now it’s time
to get some sleep so we’ll be ready for church and Sunday school in the
morning.
Finally, while the winter storm did clip
us, it really wasn’t as bad for us as other places; so we’re glad that everyone
around here is well and there weren’t even any major health issues for our
favorite doctors to deal with this weekend.
Let’s hope that’ll be true for everyone else still dealing with the bad
weather as it heads east!

Ethan:
The best part of my weekend so far was the
cuddle time and sofa sleepover with Naomi last night. I don’t really have anything newsworthy to
add, since while we have been happy all day; nothing else really happened
compared to that highlight for me to write about – so I won’t; call it a night;
and get some sleep.
Try not to have too-much fun with why I
might be tired tonight. Naomi and I are
still kids; so we should be able to get away with our sofa sleepovers for at
least a few more years – and then we’ll need to come up with another plan once
we are old-enough for that sort of thing to worry some parents! ;^)
May the Magi Force be with you!
