Ehlana:
School was cancelled today thanks to
freezing rain that started before we woke up this morning. We haven’t had many bad-weather days since
starting school, so we were happy about that; though freezing rain isn’t as
good as snow; since it isn’t any fun to go out and play with freezing
rain. Life goes on even when school is
cancelled, which is why Mom ended up with quite a few extra kids at our house
today while most parents were busy.
Naomi and Aiden brought Eli and Hailey with them shortly after breakfast;
and we got Brianna and Faith too while the Ayres and Everetts worked out other
plans for their kids – taking turns with the Burroughs so that all six kids
could hang out together.
While our top job today was helping Mom
with entertaining the younger kids, Ethan and Aiden also did some work outside –
salting the driveway and sidewalk; and then shoveling the slushy-snow-ice mix
when they needed to do that too. I don’t
want to make light of an ice-snow storm, since it really has been a big mess
for a lot of people in the entire region; since this is a fairly-massive winter
storm – even if we’re not getting the worst of it here at home. We still had lots of play time today that included
video gaming, movies, music, and more; Mom put together a fairly major lunch
with extra guests because we had other friends come over for play time too; and
then all of the kids except for Naomi and Aiden were eventually picked up by
parents as they finished work for the day – or were done helping out with other
work like dealing with the ice and snow.
Naomi and Aiden are here for the night, but
the weather is why we’re not going to have a dinner-and-movie night; and the
other top news of the day is that Dad is staying in the city tonight instead of
trying to drive home on icy or snowy roads.
I’m doing this update early, but only because we’re going to have a
quiet night; and there won’t likely be much to write about – though we do plan
on having fun with lots of cuddle time and movies. Mom may join us for some of that fun in the
lounge; though she’s going to get ahead on weekend work in the office too –
just as Dad’s going to do that while stuck in his hotel room tonight.
We will pass on anything interesting that
does happen with the next update, but that’s all I have for now; we’re going to
help Mom with making dinner now; so I’ll wrap this up and get back to the real
world again.

Ethan:
Getting a bonus day off is awesome; the
outdoor work didn’t take away from the fun – though shoveling ice-slush-snow wasn’t
a highlight of my day; and all of the play time with our cousins and friends
was great. Ehlana will likely have more
details for the rest of the news of the day, but we’re going with early updates
because our cuddle and movie plans for tonight will likely lead to another sofa
sleepover for Naomi and me; so I have zero interest in working on my computer
later tonight. ;^)
The rest of our weather through until this
storm passes through will depend on the temperature, and the forecast has been
a bit uncertain; so we could get anything from more snow to rain that’ll wash
away most of the mess we have so far by morning. I’ll write more on that tomorrow night, but
it’s time to move on to the rest of our fun plans now; so I’ll do that; and
hope for the best – including when it comes to that sofa sleepover with my
favorite cuddle buddy!
May the Magi Force be with you!
