Ethan:
If you have any doubt that there is a plan
for all of us; we have an example that could be a bit of proof for you to
consider.
We got up early and ready for our
white-water rafting adventure on the American River; loaded up the car and van;
and hit the road. The surprise of the
day was sprung on us when we arrived at the tour shop where we would be taking
a tour bus to the river with the rest of our tour groups for the day – and then
found out that the Williams’ clan were booked for the same tour! Gwyneth Hathorne was not happy about that,
but you can’t deny that someone has a cosmic sense of humor to throw us
together again for another play day.
We – the kids – were together for the ride
out to the launch point on the middle fork of the river, but while Amanda’s
mother suggested that we could hang out together for the rafting too; Mom saved
all of us by insisting that she wanted our family to share the rafting
experience together. That worked for
Gwyneth as much as for us, but then we still had our lunch break together; and
then we were together for the ride back to the office. That gave us lots of time to talk with
Gwyneth – and the rest of her group; there were lots of weird moments; and it’s
a safe bet that Gwyneth will not be starting a long-distance friendship with us
anytime-ever!
That news over-shadowed the rest of our
day, but I should add that we also had an amazing, fun time out on the river;
and white-water rafting is something that we’d recommend to anyone interested
in extreme outdoors entertainment. Four
of us are too-young for the really-extreme white-water adventures – so we’ll
just have to come back again sometime and do that! ;^)
We were invited to go out to dinner with
the Williams’ clan again tonight, but declined and did our own thing instead –
fast food to go that we ate on the drive back to the chalet. We’ve had a quiet night since then; and now
we’re all ready to get some sleep after an amazing day.
Okay, maybe some of us aren’t ready to
sleep yet, but the kids in the chalet don’t need to know the details about what
might be going on elsewhere in the house instead of sleeping.
On that note; I’m going to wrap this up and
call it a night.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
Ethan has this update well-covered; we are
tired and ready to sleep; and I don’t really have anything to add – so I won’t.
Naomi and I will finish up our bedtime
chat; get a decent night of rest; and then enjoy our last day here at the
chalet. We’re going to spend our last
day relaxing and playing here and around the chalet, and while that might not
seem exciting; we’re all looking forward to spending the time together –
especially now that we’re down to just days before Cassie and Michael will be
heading back to school on Sunday afternoon.
I definitely don’t want to think about that
right now – so I won’t.
We can be sure that we won’t be spending a
third day with Gwyneth Hathorne. She’s
sure to be as glad of that as we are; though I should add that Amanda and her
family are nice; and we got along with them pretty well. Cassie and Michael likely have more about
Amanda and her boyfriend, Sylvain, since they spent more time together, but I
can report that they’re different in some important ways too – including the
fact that Amanda and Sylvain are both very driven to succeed. That doesn’t need to be a bad thing, but in
this case; Amanda and Sylvain are drawn to Gwyneth for a reason. That doesn’t make them bad people – it just
suggests that they have the potential to choose to do whatever it takes to get
that success and wealth they want for themselves without regard for anyone
else.
It’s a very safe bet that they wouldn’t
choose to join Cassie and Michael and be happy with working for our charities
and family businesses.
Okay, I didn’t mean to go there at all; so
let’s wrap this up and I’ll get back to that bedtime girl chat with Naomi while
we wind down into nap mode.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
