Ethan:
Ehlana and I are doing a camping night with
Naomi and Aiden tonight while Mom is away on a last-minute overnight trip to
the city that she was talked into because it was a last chance this summer to
have a visit with the Malloys – and they can’t get together with us while we’re
in Crystal Springs on Friday for the back-to-school shopping trip.
Since Mom left by mid-morning, we had Uncle
Adam in or Dillon in charge of us while at the lab; Naomi’s Dad has had custody
of us since; and we haven’t really been around her house and yard much because
we had a picnic lunch at the park; stayed there for the usual afternoon biking,
swimming, and play time; and then Naomi’s parents opted for a pizzeria pizza
dinner ahead of the girls’ baseball practice – and because Eli had Zack with
him for that meal too. That was a bit
scary, but while Zack and Eli are camping tonight too; they’re technically
doing that in Zack’s back yard. The
down-side for us is that they needed to set their tent up close to ours instead
of close to the river as we normally would do when camping at any of the
river-front homes; and they’ll be bugging us later.
I’m doing this update now while we’re
getting our overnight bags and taking care of Silkie. Ehlana and Naomi are finished their practice
and met us here; we’ll take Silkie with us for a walk and some play time; and
then bring her back at bedtime – unless Brianna steals her for the night; since
that’s a definite possibility. I’ll keep
you posted on that and the rest of the news from tonight with the next update,
but I need to get going and that’s all I have for now; so I’ll wrap this up and
get back to the fun!

That works for me – though I’ll add that
Naomi and I are just a bit jealous of Ethan and Aiden for being done their
baseball practices for the season. It
was really hot out there tonight; and we weren’t very motivated even while we’re
happy about playing in the championship game on the holiday weekend. We’re going to talk the boys into a swim next
because we want to cool off; so I’m going to move on now too.
We don’t have any Cassie and Michael news yet
because she’s just getting to her night class, but there’s sure to be more news
to come for them this week; and I’ll include the highlights as we go along.
Let’s hope that we have some fun highlights
around here tonight, but with Zack and Eli around; there’s a high risk of some
low-lights to go along with the good.
It’s a good thing that we can’t use our
Magi talents on them when they bug us, but then Zack knows that; and likely
enjoys his own weird version of entertainment because of it.
Instead of going there, I’ll just go now –
and hope for a happy, fun night with Ethan and our best friends.
