Ethan:
We’re home; it’s been a long travel day;
and we’ve just wrapped up a welcome home dinner party and campfire; so I’m
going to keep this short and crash into nap mode.
Our morning wake-up call was early; we
picked up food in Sacramento before getting to the airport; and then the rest
of our travel time was a blast of busy and tedium as we headed east and gained
time zones along the way. That’s why it
was mid-afternoon by the time we got to our home airport. Cassie and Michael had Stefan and Madelana
there to pick them up – and they’d already collected May when she’d arrived on
an earlier flight from Washington. While
Cassie and Michael met up with them, Mom, Dad, Ehlana, and I went to get the
van from the car park – after we’d all collected out luggage. We eventually met up for a washroom break and
fast food stop; needed to juggle the luggage because Cassie’s car had been full
already with camping gear and May’s luggage; and then we hit the road for home –
with the five teens in the car and the rest of us in the minivan.
The dinner party was a surprise for us; it
was great getting to spend the night with our families and friends; and after
the campfire; we even had a bit of a shivaree for Cassie and Michael when they
headed home to his house for the rest of the night. That would have been a fun way to end the
night – and was fun; but we still had some cleaning up to do before heading to
bed and did that with help from the last groups of guests that stayed
long-enough to make sure we didn’t end up spending half the night doing that
last blast of work.
Okay, that’s already longer than I planned;
so let’s wrap this up. We don’t have
much time left now before Cassie and Michael head back to school tomorrow
afternoon; and I want to be rested up and ready – especially when that’ll be a
bit tough while dealing with the time change too.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
I’m glad to be home; it’s been a long day;
and I’ll save up my journal reporting until we have more time sometime tomorrow
– after Cassie, Michael, and their friends have headed out and back to
school. We may not get to spend much
time with Cassie and Michael tomorrow, but we do have Madelana, Stefan, and May
here with us; so we’re sure to have fun in the morning while Cassie’s spending
time with her in-laws! ;^)
That’s going to be an entertaining change
in our lives that will feel more-real now than it did during the first week
while Cassie and Michael were on their honeymoon, but then a lot has happened
since then; so that’s just one of many changes ahead of us in the coming weeks,
months, and years.
I’ll have more on that in the future too,
but really do need to get to sleep – so I will.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
