Ethan:
Our family and friends dinner last night
was a lot of fun; and we had a pretty good turnout for it too – especially if
you add in the dinner deliveries that were made for parents that were stuck
working for the evening. After setting
up our tents; we played before dinner; had more fun after that; and more tents
were set up by parents and other kids when we ended up adding younger cousins
and a few older kids to help out with the camp supervision. That change also led to a short campfire
after a blast of park playground fun; we had extra parents and neighbors with
us for that round of snacks, music, and scary stories fun; and then we – the kids
– were sent to our tents after taking turns in the house for washroom breaks.
Aiden and I had Zack and Eli assigned to
our tent; so you can likely guess that we had an interesting and tiring rest of
the night while first trying to keep their pranks to a minimum and then get
them tired-out enough to sleep. We did
eventually do that; didn’t get much sleep; and still woke up early-enough for
Tai Chi by the river with all of our extra exercise buddies.
That was fun; breakfast was crazy-busy; and
then Aiden and I had to hurry off to our ballgame against the
Pteradactyls. The good news is that we
won our final game of the season; and the bad is that it was our final game of
the season. We won’t be in the
championship game on the holiday weekend, but while some of the guys are
disappointed; we already knew that before the game; and I really am okay with
it – and getting to cheer for Ehlana and Naomi instead; since they have a
pretty good chance of getting into their championship match. I’m skipping over the rest of the morning and
afternoon, but let’s stick with baseball; and I’ll get back to the rest of the
news. Mom and Dad had their final co-ed
game of the regular season tonight; The Blizzard was up against the Hurricane –
Violet and Dillon’s team. We expected it
to be a great game, and I guess that it was for the Blizzard, but they also won
very convincingly against the younger team that has been doing pretty well most
seasons since that group of our favorite collegians graduated and moved home
again. Sixteen-to-eight wasn’t really
close at all for most of the game; and the loss could push Violet and Dillon’s
team out of the co-ed championship game too; though they’ll have to wait until
next weekend to find that out; since second place for the co-ed teams is likely
to be decided by a tie-break. We watched
about half of that game and cheered for our favorite players on both teams;
played at the playground and went for a swim the rest of the time; and then Mom
and Dad only had Ehlana and me when we headed home from the park.
I should back up and cover the rest of the
story before doing the evening wrap-up.
After winning our ball game, Aiden and I
went with our team for the ice cream treats celebration at the Emporium; Ehlana
and Naomi were there with the rest of our junior cheerleaders and some of the
Moms; and then the four of us went home to our house and were put to work on
some chores that included cleaning up our campground and weeding the
gardens. That kept us busy until
lunchtime. We did that at a bit after
one o’clock; and then we – the kids – were set free for the afternoon while Dad
got to work in the office and Mom split her time between more chores and
working in the office too. We biked the
trails; played at the park; went swimming a couple of times; and had more
Emporium ice cream for out mid-afternoon snack.
That kept us busy until dinnertime; we had friends and family with us
for that meal again too; and I’ve already covered the baseball news.
That just leaves the baths we had after
getting home; some work and studying in the office because Dad still has a lot
to get done before his week in the city; and now I’m in bed, ready to crash,
and need the sleep after staying up late last night and keeping up with Zack
and Eli. It’s been an awesome day; we’ve
had fun; and I hope that we’ll have a good day tomorrow too – though it’s sure
to be quieter than the last couple of Sundays have been for us! ;^)
Check out the next update for that news,
but that’s all for tonight; and I’m off to dreamland – probably within minutes
of putting my toys away for the night.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
Ethan has the news from home covered; so I’ll
do the news from our favorite collegians.
First up, Cassie, Michael, and their
friends are continuing to have fun with all of the activities going on at the
college. They’ve gotten together with
all of her summer school friends now too; and I can also report that Cassie is
happy to be taking some third-year classes with Chloe – something that they’ve
apparently managed to work out around Chloe’s work schedule while she’s only
able to be a part-time student. That’ll
only work for them for this semester, since Chloe will still be taking the ‘first’
semester classes in the spring session, but that gives Cassie one friend to study
with for her third-year classes; and they really are going to have fun
together.
Next up, we don’t have a lot of news from
Dawn yet, but she is apparently very happy with her college choice, dorm room
mate, and the class schedule that’ll be starting on Monday for her too. I doubt that those classes will be as great
as the flying she’ll do whenever she can fit that into her schedule, but Dawn
is a really good student too; and I know that she’ll do well with the maths and
sciences that will be a big part of her aeronautics technologies program. We don’t have any news for Chris or Martin,
but that’s no surprise; and we haven’t even written about their college
adventures in our archives anyway.
There are lots of college stories going
around, but the last one I’m going to cover is for Dawn’s best friend,
Jillian. I’ve been saving this up, since
it’s news that Ethan and I have known about for quite a while, but Jillian has
now found out that Julian Sparks is attending her college. They’re in the same residential hall, but
different programs. They do have one
class together, but for right now; they’re just happy to each have someone they
already know to hang out with as they get started on their freshman year. That’s especially-true for Julian, since
Jillian is at least used to bigger schools and city life, but they’re also both
currently unattached and still attracted to each other; so we’ll see how long
it is before they’re more than just friends! ;^)
Yes, we do know more; and I won’t be
sharing those details anytime soon.
That’s enough news for tonight, though, and
I’m ready to get some sleep too; so it’s time to wrap this up and get started
on my nap.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
