Ethan:
It’s been another fun day, but I’m tired;
and will leave this update to Ehlana.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
I’m tempted to suggest that Ethan’s
more-tired than I am because of all of the camping-cuddling with Naomi last
night, but we had two junior campers; so that didn’t happen – or at least the
cuddle time for them was minor while we were hanging out together before Ethan
and Aiden went to their own tent for the rest of the night.
Starting with the rest of the story from
yesterday, we had an easy burgers, dogs, and cold salad sides dinner; Naomi and
I went to our ball practice while Ethan and Aiden went to his house and set up
the two tents; and then we met up there after Naomi packed her overnight bag on
the way to Aiden’s house. Hailey and
Leah were there already and fired up too; we went for a swim to cool off after
the baseball; and then we played in the back yard until around ten o’clock –
including with Aiden’s Mom for a little while after his Dad went to bed. I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to that
early bedtime thing for Aiden’s father, but when you get up in the middle of
the night to go to work; staying up late isn’t an option.
We moved the fun into the girls’ tent when
it was time to be quiet; had a fun chat – and that bit of cuddle time for Naomi
and Ethan; and then there was more girl chat time after the boys moved on to
some portable video gaming in their tent.
It wasn’t all that much longer before Hailey and Leah fell asleep; Naomi
and I continued our chat along with some music video watching for a while
longer; and then we dropped off to sleep sometime around midnight.
Tai Chi for four by the river was awesome –
and I could get used to doing that every day when we’re older – just as morning
workouts are always awesome for Cassie and Michael. We had two junior spectators for the last
part of our workout; we went for an early, cool, and short swim; and then got
ready for the day before having leftover Olde Bakery treats for breakfast. That’s always a bonus for staying at Aiden’s
house; since his Mom almost always brings home something different for them to
have at breakfast in the morning – especially when Aiden – or Hailey – has overnight
guests.
We had to pack up the tents and clean up
the back yard first, but then Ethan and I moved on to the lab while our best
friends went home or to the bakery for the morning. The lab time for me was great and Ethan
always loves playing with his books; so we were in a great mood when we got
home for lunch with Mom. That was a
mini-subs and salads meal; and then we were on the go again for another play
afternoon at the park and on the trails with our friends. Add in another easy dinner; more park play
time after that while the parents were busy with baseball practice; and some
work and studying in the office after we got home – including a Magi lesson for
Ethan and me; and that’s all of the news I have from home tonight.
We did have a video chat with Cassie and
Michael tonight; so there is some news from their corner of the world. As we’ve mentioned recently, the residential
halls opened today for their school, so their top story is that Stefan,
Madelana, and May are in their dorms tonight – and were busy with on-campus
life by late-morning. Cassie, Michael,
Rowen, and Tim helped them out with the move from their townhouses; and that
required an extra trip with Cassie’s car because all three of their friends had
also left some of their things at the townhouses at the end of their first year
instead of paying extra to haul everything home – or give anything away. Michael and Tim apparently did that second
trip while the girls stayed together, but once their friends needed to get
started on the scheduled activities on campus; Cassie, Michael, Rowen, and Tim
were free to do their own thing for lunch and then hang out on campus and enjoy
the activities that were open to all students.
They had dinner on campus too and then
stayed around for some of the evening entertainment, but didn’t stay late; and
are already split up in their own townhouses for the rest of the night. No other news about what will be going on
there for the rest of the night will be posted in our journals. ;^)
Our four favorite collegians will continue
to have fun on-campus and getting back together with friends that they haven’t
seen since they headed home last May, but they’re glad to be able to go home
too where they can study at Magi speed and stay away from the crazier parts of
campus life.
I’m sure that we’ll have a lot more to
write about for Cassie and Michael, but that’ll do it for tonight.
We’ve all had another great day whether
here at home with a fairly-normal day or away and getting back into the college
life scene and the excitement that goes along with the imminent start of a new
school year. I’ll try not to think too
much about that, since our return to school won’t be as exciting for me, but
then that is part of our lives; and I wouldn’t choose Gwyneth’s path to
academic stardom over the way we’re living our lives.
Okay, that’s enough for tonight. It’s time to wrap this up and get some sleep –
so I will.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
