Ethan:
I’ve had an awesome day; Aiden and I are
gaming and having a sleepover at his house; and I’m going to get back to the
fun and leave the update to Ehlana.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
Sure, because girls have nothing better to
do with our sleepovers than sit around, do our hair and nails, and talk all
night.
Oh wait – never mind! ;^)
Naomi and I are having fun tonight, but I
can multi-task this report too. Let’s
start with the rest of the news from last night.
Our family and friends dinner and movie
night was fairly-quiet. Maybe Zack
overdid it at Leah’s birthday, but whatever the reason; we had fun without any
major pranks or annoyances. Dinner
included grilled food; the girls got to pick the movie; and we all headed for
our beds early because we were tired.
That’s also why there weren’t any sleepovers – though Mom and Dad also
wanted to get an early start to our chores on Saturday too. We did that after Tai Chi at dawn and a quick
breakfast. Ethan and I helped out until
we stopped for a late lunch; and then we were set free to bike and play with
our friends for the rest of the afternoon.
Mom and Dad did more work, but then they also hosted a pizzeria pizza
dinner with Aiden’s and Naomi’s families – a trade-off for the kid-free night
they’re getting now.
No details from that will be posted in our
journals!
Since getting to Naomi’s, we’ve watched a
movie; did the hair and nails thing with Naomi’s Mom; and now we’re on our own
in Naomi’s bedroom. We aren’t really
into video gaming the way the boys are, but that’s because we’re enjoying the
chat time while listening to music videos.
There is a lot to talk about. The
countdown is on for college final exams, and while Cassie still has a week to
go; other collegians are starting exams next week – including Rebecca, Lucas,
and Jen. That’s important for us because
the pizzeria will be open full-time starting next weekend; and that means we’ll
have a return of pizza days at school; and more opportunities for pizza seven
days a week.
I am so glad that I inherited the
hyper-active metabolism!
Along those lines, Jen and Garrett aren’t
wasting any time with getting married – their wedding is two weeks from
today. We’ll attend the ceremony with
Ethan and Aiden – and at least two of us will count that as a date – though we
won’t be at the reception too. Ethan
will survive the razzing he’ll get for that; and he’ll have fun with Naomi too.
Finally, we’ve talked about baseball a
bit. Practices start next week; and we’re
hoping to have another good season. We
could miss some games because of Cassie’s wedding and ever tying else that’s
going on this summer, but won’t know until the schedules come out. We’re also hoping for good team names; since
the girls teams sometimes end up with names that the adults and sponsors think
are adorable but are embarrassing for kids.
I should add that our chores included
planting some flowers today along with the less-fun work; and the biking at the
park included an ice cream snack break at the Emporium and falls. The pizza dinner was only a bit scary thanks
to Zack and Eli, but the trade-off for that was worth it when Aunt Leanne kept
Eli instead of sending Zack home with us instead. Brianna was working on trading places with
Caleb for the night when they headed home; and that probably worked out for her
too; since Caleb looked as though he wanted to be invited to hang out with Zack
tonight too. I’m overdue for another
sleepover with Brianna – and Faith too; but it may be the holiday weekend
before we can do that, since next weekend is Mother’s Day and Cassie and
Michael will be home the weekend after that.
The more I think about that, the more I realize
that we’re going to be getting very busy starting next week – including three
ball practices a week on top of everything else. That’s all I have for tonight, but stay
tuned; since life is going to get a bit more-exciting around here now!

from what is now my past!
