Ethan and Ehlana:
Let’s begin this update with our top news of the day! That came from game night at the Inn, and as part of the Halloween theme, part of the ‘scary’ fun was a girls against boys challenge. That worked out great for the girls and the girls’ side of our family because Mom helped Miranda to win another championship and while they did that; Naomi and Ehlana won the junior title. Aiden and I managed to do better than Dad and Jacob, but we all had fun; and there are advantages that go along with having our favorite girls win! ;^)
As for the rest of our day, Tai Chi was indoors because it was pretty wet out; our academic adventures included more Halloween-themed fun – or work; since we had two tests today too. While we had other options for after-school fun, Ehlana and I opted for another visit to the lab or archives because we know that won’t happen at least for the first few days of next week; and we always have more work there that we would like to get done and never make enough time for while busy with everything else on our schedules. Yes, we could do more, but don’t forget that we still need to play the part of ‘normal’ kids too; so full-time hours at the lab just wouldn’t work for us. We had fun at the lab for as long as we could; joined Mom and Dad for another easy dinner that was late-enough that we needed to head straight for the Inn after the clean-up; and in addition to the gaming fun, we definitely enjoyed all of the themed snacks and drinks. Since coming home, we’ve had a bedtime visit with Mom and Dad that included a short Magi lesson, but Mom didn’t want us working tonight; so we came upstairs after that little round of family fun. Our bedtime computing included an update from Cassie and Michael, but while they are getting a lot done; we’ll leave the details for their journals and work reports. It would be weird to not have them home this weekend if they hadn’t been away for most of the past five Halloweens, but this is just one more; and we’ll hope that they get a chance again in the nearer future – even though that might not happen; since they will be doing trips pretty much every fall for years to come.
Instead of going there, we should just wrap this up and get some sleep. We have the school dance tomorrow night and the Haunted Halloween Walk on Saturday; a very-important best-friend birthday on Sunday; and all of the fun that will go along with all of those adventures. Being rested and at full-power for all of that will make it easier to enjoy it all even more; so we’re out of here and off to dreamland to make that happen!
