Happy 12th Birthday, Paige Spencer!
We’re getting ready to head out to Paige’s party soon; so this will be another comparatively-quick update. She’s having a co-ed party; we’ll be helping with the musical entertainment; and then we’ll be at Aiden’s house for the night while Mom and Dad get a kid-free break. Our news for today-so-far is easy – we’ve been busy with chores through to now and we finished up early-enough to get cleaned up and ready for the party as well as get packed for our overnight plans. We worked at a total of five homes with the fall chores and worked together with Naomi and Aiden for a lot of the day; so we had fun even with all of the work.
That just leaves the rest of the story from last night; so let’s get right to that. The warm weather made the biking on the trails and hanging out at the park a fun highlight of the day; we came home in time to help Mom and some of the other parents with the pre-dinner work; and then we were on kid control during dinner that was in the dining room for the adults and sunroom for the kids and tweens. Zack and Eli managed to mostly stay out of trouble while we ate; we helped with the clean-up after that; and then our evening entertainment highlight was watching a Halloween movie in the living room while Zack and Eli led video gaming in the lounge. Dad got home before the start of the movie thanks to getting more done this week with Anna Marie’s help, but he was tired; and didn’t make it to the end of the movie before falling asleep. He got teased about that, but the ‘party’ wrapped up soon after the movie ended; and then it was tween-only time in the lounge with the three couples that stayed overnight. Sophia and Aaron got to have their first experience with co-ed ‘nesting’ on the floor while Ehlana and I took turns on the sectional sofa with our favorite cuddle buddies. We watched another movie; stayed up too-late; and didn’t get much sleep. The good news that was new for this morning was that we could share some fatigue healing with everyone in the house for a change; so we were at full-power for Tai Chi by the river, the hot breakfast, and the chores we’ve already mentioned.
We need to get going to meet up with Naomi and Aiden; drop off our bags at his house; and then get to Paige’s party – so that’s all for today; and we’re out of here.
