Ethan and Ehlana:
The fall festival is over now, and as we write this update; we are both happy and feeling sad – with the second part of that due to Cassie and Michael’s imminent departure for their trip and Dad will be in the city next week too. We’ve had a blast with the fall festival fun again today; topped that off with the early buffet at the Inn that, for our family, was a special meal with our weekend guests, something of an early birthday dinner for Aunt Leanne; and a last goodbye for Cassie and Michael. We got to spend a bit of time with them at church this morning and at the festival this afternoon too, but we needed to share them; so those cameo moments needed to be enough to hold us over until they get home again next month.
The Malloys and Proctors headed home after that dinner; so we’ve wrapped up our evening with some clean-up chores around the house and only a bit of Magi-powered fun that wasn’t really a lesson and more of a way to get the work finished faster. We won’t be able to see Cassie and Michael off in the morning, but will be up early for Dad’s trip; so we’re also calling it a night early too. Once we had the cleaning and laundry finished, we moved on to bath or Jacuzzi time; and now we’re pretty much done with our bedtime twin chat and computing and are ready to crash and nap.
While this is supposed to be more of a double update, as we’re thinking about our weekend adventures; there really isn’t very much that needs to be added to the basics we included in our last update. Nobody in the future needs to read all about every single moment of every thrill ride or game we played, and while the displays, shows, contests, and the rest of the entertainment and food was diverse and kept us busy and happy all weekend; and we need to again point out that it has been the people we shared the adventures with that made everything so awesome! Since we’re on that thought, let’s add that we had fun with the Malloys and spent time with Valerie and Marcus, but the kids also spent a fair bit of time with our cousins and friends that are closer to their own ages too. Yes, Valerie is between us and Leah, but preferred to hang out with Leah, Hailey, and their friends – mostly because they all still think that boys are gross and didn’t want to hang around with the tween couples in our group! As for the gang that was with us a lot of the time, the biggest news is that Jayden and Susan spent so much time together – even more than they’d been together during the summer. No, our cousin has not met his match; and I’ll again just point out that we’re okay with him not having a new girl-friend of ours to hang out with each time he visits! There may be some official new couples among the teens and tweens at our school now, but we’ll likely get more of those details from the gossip network at school over the next couple of days.
Ehlana is reminding me that we should mention that our set at the teen dance on Friday was a hit; Sophia and Aaron had fun with the songs they played with us; and we even got teased about not doing a set at the ‘adult’ dance on Saturday night. We didn’t want to do that, but weren’t invited either; and that worked for us – just as skipping the talent contest this year was part of our plan because we didn’t want to be busy all weekend. That doesn’t sound right when we were going non-stop all weekend except for a couple of naps, but there is a big difference between the kinds of busy.
Moving along, we need to wrap this up, since we do have that early wake-up call; so that’s it for tonight. It will be a bit quieter here next week – and we’re not just saying that because some of our favorite people will be away! That is going to be short-lived, since Halloween is close too, but we’ll keep you posted on the rest of our fall and Halloween adventures as we go along – as well as the latest on Cassie and Michael’s trip; so read on to find out all about that if you aren’t ready for a nap in our future; and we’ll go and rest up to be ready to live those stories!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
