Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - September 24, 2023

Ethan and Ehlana:

Let’s get right to this report with the rest of the story from Saturday!  Our dinner with Mom, Dad, and four friends was fun – eve with the work before and after the meal.  Dad went back to his ongoing work in the office, but he got most of it done thanks to the rain; and got to have most of today off for a change.  While he was busy and Mom kept him company, the six tweens in the house had some bonus music fun; we watched movies; and the guys had a short round of video gaming for a break between the second and last movies of the night.  We had a lot of fun; Sophia and Aaron are fitting right in with our little gang; and we will definitely be spending more time with them from now on.  Naomi and I ‘nested’ again last night while the other two tween couples used the sectional sofa for their co-ed sleepovers – and the movie watching.  That isn’t a sacrifice for us, but we will take turns when needed in the future.

After staying up late and only having time for naps, we were up on-time for Tai Chi by the river with Mom and Dad; Sophia and Aaron joined us again for another lesson that Ehlana led today; and then we were busy for a while as we got ready for church and shared the work on either side of our breakfast.  We ended up as part of a gang for the walk to the church; the service and Sunday school were as special for us as always; and we got teased a bit for the three-couple sofa sleepover thanks to some pictures that made the rounds thanks to Sophia’s and Aaron’s mothers.  There were no Dad issues to report today, but then Sophia’s father did go through the dating-daughter thing with Jessica; and is just playing it cool with Sophia.

We were on our own for lunch with Mom and Dad today, but our friends and a gang of cousins eventually played with us for part or all of the afternoon.  Cassie and Michael got in on a lot of that fun too; so we had a very happy afternoon of biking, park play, and some backyard games that Mom and Dad hosted along with some chat time with quite a few of the parents of the kids and tweens.  Dinner at the Inn was an option, but Mom and Dad didn’t want to do that again this week; so we were on our own for that meal and the rest of the evening – even though we did have some members of our family and some friends choosing to have dinner at the Inn instead.  Cassie and Michael weren’t part of that group, but they went home instead of staying with us because they wanted to switch into work mode and get ready for two vid-conferences that they have booked for tonight.  We’ll be okay with not having to deal with big time changes for our work in the future, but then we might end up working night and day too; since we will definitely spend a lot of time at the lab or archives when we do get to that stage of our lives.

Working late wasn’t an issue for us tonight.  After the dinner clean-up, Mom did a Magi lesson with us; we came up to our rooms after that for bath or Jacuzzi time; and Ehlana and I only had a short music practice before getting started on our bedtime computing and twin chat fun.  Now we’re ready to sleep and can do that now; so that’s all for this update!  Stay tuned; since our last week of September is going to be very busy – and hopefully a lot of fun!

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
