Happy 12th Birthday, Miles Sheldon!
Congratulations, Rebecca and Lucas – you’re pregnant!
The pregnancy news is the top story of the day around here, and while we missed out on the first game night at the Inn of the school year; you won’t be surprised to find out that Rebecca’s news was a conversational highlight for Miranda, Jacob, and everyone else at the Inn tonight!
Our day was pretty good too; and helping Miles out with celebrating his special day had a lot to do with that. We had bonus birthday fun for most of the time at school – including special treats and outdoor play time at lunch; and then Miles’ party began after school with only some delays for the girls that wanted to go home and get changed and dressed up first. The four of us got changed too, but that was into swimsuits, shorts, and tees; since we were happy to get in on the back yard games, some biking, and a swim break. The cooler weather we’re getting is relative; and hitting the mid-eighties with a lot of sun is still awesome; and we are going to enjoy it for as long as Mother Nature gives us these daily gifts!
Miles is certainly learning to appreciate gifts like girls in swimsuits, but the biggest news from his party is that we got through it without any major tween drama! That’s right, our guy friends played nice with just a few of the usual food and drinks games; none of the girls got even mildly-annoyed; and we all had a blast this afternoon and evening! There was some video gaming tonight, so not everything has changed, but our band also provided some ‘unplugged’ music; there was dancing; and a campfire that wrapped up along with the party by eleven o’clock because it is a school night. Naomi and Aiden brought their bikes and overnight bags along and came home with us; it’s getting late now because Jacuzzi or shower time was required to get cleaned up; and now we’re winding down toward our co-ed sofa sleepover with our usual bedtime computing and chat fun.
Ehlana and Naomi want to include a tween update; so let’s mention that Sophia brought Aaron with her as a date for the party – though he was probably invited too. Miles and Joshua are spending more time with Carolyn and Jennifer, but are definitely not official couples; and yes, the girls might take those jobs even though the guys still drive them nuts more often than not! This has been a good day, though, so let’s keep credit where due – and that includes all of the guys in our class. There are some matches happening this summer and now that we’re back to school, but probably no other permanent pairings yet; so maybe we shouldn’t list any of them here. Yes, the girls will want to write about the tween and teen drama that will include dating and break-ups, since that is part of normal life around here, but Aiden and I will just be glad that we are with our perfect matches; and won’t have to go through broken hearts and the rest of the usual dating risks.
Thanks, Naomi, but no, I don’t want you to break up with me just so that I’ll be able to understand our friends better in the future! I love you; and want you to keep me forever!
I am suddenly not very interested in continuing to do any work on my computer; you can probably guess why in one try; and we’re out of here because we have more-interesting entertainment options to keep busy with until we fall asleep! ;^)
