Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - September 18, 2023

Ethan and Ehlana:

We’ve had a very long, amazing day; so let’s get right to the news and then we’ll move on and get some sleep!

Dad’s weeks in the city are changing now that he’ll be there with Anna Marie some or all of the time; and our early morning included seeing both of them off on their way to Crystal Springs.  Tai Chi with Mom seemed quieter even though it wasn’t much different; breakfast was the same; and then our school day was pretty good – in-part thanks to the football win and, for the most part, successful game night dates and happy gossip.  The continuing education should get mentioned more-often, since we do actually have a normal school day and our lessons and the rest of the work take up most of our time there, but we really don’t think about that very much; and all future readers should understand by this far into our journals that our daily education is just for show anyway.  We just get to enjoy the fun with our classmates and friends! ;^)

The best parts of our day began after school.  We gathered up our band gear; Mom gave us a lift to the studio; and we went on to spend the next four hours or so starting the recordings for our Christmas album and the Mulan music video.  Sophia and Aaron met up with us to help with violins for two songs; Cassie and Michael caught up with us for the Pizzeria pizza break that we all took for dinner; and then they stayed to help with the Mulan song – with Cassie adding in and helping us with the multi-lingual parts of our version!  We had a blast with all of that; got three songs recorded with all parts; and now we leave it up to our favorite studio experts to create the final videos and audio recordings.  Our first session was a total success, though, so we are very happy with our progress so far – and the pizza dinner was an awesome bonus too!

Mom, Cassie, and Michael have also worked out their plans for tomorrow; Mom is going to be in the city overnight; Cassie will shop with her during the day; Michael is going to take us to Crystal Springs after school; and we’ll all be having dinner with the Malloys.  Naomi and Aiden will stay with us at Cassie and Michael’s house tomorrow night; so we are definitely expecting another amazing day!  Mom, Cassie, and Michael helped us out with getting our gear home – including rides for Naomi, Aiden, Sophia, and Aaron; and then Mom did a Magi lesson with us before sending us upstairs for bath or Jacuzzi time.

It can get warm in the studio with a lot of people around; so we wanted the tub time; and now we’re winding down toward nap time with the usual bedtime computing and twin chat fun.  Naomi has been on a virtual chat with us too, but Aiden isn’t online; and we don’t try to bother him when it is past his parents’ normal bedtime; since we don’t want to wake them up – especially when his Dad starts work at the bakery so early.  We mostly talked about the music from tonight and the trip tomorrow, but unless you need to know what Ehlana and Naomi have decided to wear to that dinner; the details aren’t really important from a future-history perspective.

We are also thinking about the countdown to Cassie and Michael’s trip, since we are now officially down to less than four weeks to go; and can report that they are busy getting ready for it – along with the rest of the work they have on the go for future trips and other projects that are ongoing from China and elsewhere.  World news should likely be something that we write about more-often, but that is always available elsewhere in the archives, and while we always keep up-to-date on the latest news; we also don’t dwell on it most of the time because we’re tweens and don’t need to do that when we can’t do anything about very much of the bad news – even with the parts of the family business that we are involved with.  For the record, most of the wars that we’ve written about in the recent past are still going on; none of the political problems of the world have been solved; and there are a few more issues in places like Africa where the majority of the populations in some of those countries have had enough of being treated so badly and want real changes for the better.  Yes, that can be good news, but only if they succeed; and only time will tell whether they will or not; since the people in power never give it up willingly.  Natural disasters continue around the world too, and while those problems are something that we do more about through our charities and businesses, the problems are always immense; and we wish that we could help everyone while knowing that is still impossible – at least for now.  We don’t want to single out any one or two disasters that are currently being dealt with, but can point out that those collective problems can cause as much destruction, deaths, and injuries as we’ve seen with the various wars and conflicts.

Unfortunately, our world leaders still don’t seem willing to do what is needed to fix any of those problems; so they are sure to continue.

We do not want to get into a rant, and that’s enough for this report anyway; so we’re out of here and will be off to dreamland soon.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
