Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - September 19, 2023

Naomi, Ethan, Ehlana, and Aiden:

Happy 10th Birthday, Eli!

This update is coming to you from Cassie and Michael’s house; and I’m taking over because I can – convince Ethan to let me do this while cuddling with me instead!

We celebrated Eli’s special day this morning at breakfast and before school; he didn’t need to pretend to love the sister-free night gift that I gave him then; and he had a lot of fun with that story at school today.  Expect that to be a trend for other sisters in the coming weeks and months except for Cassie and Ehlana!  Brianna is already making plans for Zack’s birthday, but probably won’t get approval for giving him a sister-free decade!  Eli loved the ‘real’ gifts we had for him too; and has likely been playing with them tonight too; since doing that with his buddies would have been an option.  We don’t have details, since Eli is getting the night off from me, but we’ll keep you posted if there is any interesting news from Eli’s party.

Before going to school, we were busy with that birthday fun, but we also dropped off our overnight bags with Cassie and Michael while meeting up with Aiden too; and then our school day was mostly just a round of academic fun that we needed to get through until Michael picked us up for the trip to Crystal Springs.  My future mother and sister-in-law went to the city this morning and shopped for most of the day; we met up with them, Dad, Anna Marie, and Cal at the hotel; and then we all headed over to the restaurant to meet with the Malloys.

Valerie and Marcus were soon in our care for the meal after the first round of hugs and kisses; the adults were at one table; we were at a table next to them; and we all had fun – whether talking work and life or chatting about nothing important at all and coloring and playing little games.  We spent two hours together; and the highlight for news included plans for the Malloys to come for a work-visit around the fall festival that will include work for Terry and bonus play time for Valerie and Marcus.  That works for all of us, and while we’ll likely be busier helping out with them; they’ll also end up playing with our cousins instead.

More than half of the adults in our group needed to move on for work, but after the goodbye hugs and kisses, Cassie and Michael took us to the mall for a bit of gift shopping for upcoming birthdays and other occasions; we stayed until around nine; and then hit the road for home – after picking up a fast food snack and treats for Aunt Leanne.  The trip home was uneventful and entertaining; the cameo visit with the Carringtons ended up being at Cassie and Michael’s house because they multi-tasked a bedtime walk for Lady; and then we unloaded the van and moved on to a bedtime movie and chat.  Cassie and Michael have gone to bed now and didn’t wait for the end of this forgettable movie, and we’re nearly ready to get some sleep too.

This has been an amazing first couple of days of the week; so let’s just go with the happy that includes me not being at Eli’s party with Zack and his buddies.  Mom might have a different opinion on that, but if needed; Ehlana and I will help her out somehow with getting over the trauma!  We can go there if needed tomorrow, but that’s all for this update; and I really want to get back to cuddling with Ethan while we drift off to sleep – so we’re out of here!

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
