Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - October 7, 2022

Ethan, Ehlana, Naomi, and Aiden:

Our first day of fall festival adventures has been a best-ever-so-far!  For Naomi and the Haunted Harmonies, that had everything to do with our music thanks to making it through the first two rounds of the talent competition and then also being invited to do a ‘warm-up’ half hour of music for the teen dance tonight!  Add in the bonus of finding out that our Halloween music is a hit at the booth being co-run by the studio and Spinners that has our band as the early top-seller for local music; and even the extreme midway rides don’t rate higher on the fun scale for us tonight! ;^)

Okay, the thrill rides were awesome too, but we also had less time for them today while busy with our own contributions to the talent competition and also catching some of the other performances to check out the competition.  The teen dance was a highlight for more than our own music too – though we loved being on-stage too; and showed off some of our Halloween songs as well as the two songs we’d already performed in the competition.  We played and sang five songs; and then gave up the stage to the band that had actually been booked for the teen dance.  I’d report that we worked for free, but that isn’t totally true; since we apparently sold more than two-hundred digital songs or E.P.’s tonight alone; so we’re already starting to pay off the costs of the recording sessions.

While the music was the best parts of our day, in a way, the cooler weather we had for most of the day helped to make the extra time in the pavilions work for us too.  It wasn’t awful out today, but a high near sixty still feels cooler compared to the eighties-highs we’ve enjoyed for the rest of the week.  It was still sunny out, though, so when we did get around to the thrill rides; we didn’t need winter coats to stay warm!  We saved up the game booths for the afternoon and evening too; used hot drinks and treats to help stay warm in the morning and during the teen dance; and then the fun wrapped up before midnight for us because it was getting colder; and we were ready to head home by then.

It’s getting late now, but we didn’t want to skip this update even though we need to get some sleep to be ready for the next round of the talent competition in the morning.  That’s going to be the top-eight round, and if we make it through to the finale; that’ll be as one of the top-four that will compete for the festival title and trophy.  Naomi really wants to win now even more than before our first performance this morning; so we’ll all try our best to help her out with that!  For now, we really should get some sleep, but before we go, let’s also add that we had fun with Jayden and our friends today; added in some fun with our families too; and we can save the teen drama stories for one of the next couple of updates.  We should also add that Cassie, Michael, and their friends are done with their mid-terms, but the T.A.’s are all busy this weekend with marking exams; so they won’t be home for the festival at all.

We really are going to get some sleep now, so while we do that; have fun with music videos that we used to help with creating our versions of the two songs we performed in the competition today!
