Ethan and Ehlana:
Our top family news of the day is that Uncle Blaine, Aunt Alison, and their kids are here tonight for the three-day weekend and fall festival. We only saw them for a few minutes so far, since they’re staying with the Everetts, but we hope that we will spend some time with them over the next few days – and we’ll definitely invite Jayden to hang out with us whenever he can do that.
The fall festival is what every kid and teen in town was thinking about today, and that made it tough to focus on our lessons – even for the Magi Masters in the school! It’s supposed to cool down overnight, so we aren’t going to get the warmer days at least for Friday and Saturday, but we aren’t supposed to get rain either; so we’re still hoping for an awesome weekend. Having the hotter day today had everything to do with our choice to play with our friends after school. We biked the trails; hung out at the park while the festival set-up was being finished up; and even got to get in on testing a ride. We were home for dinner with Mom and Dad; returned to the park for a sound check in the pavilion where the talent contest will be held; and that was a highlight of our day. We really impressed everyone working in and around the pavilion, including a few of the festival organizers; and we only tried out a few snippets of songs while testing the keyboards, drums, mics, and plug-ins for our guitars. Most of the gear is supplied; since the contest won’t allow for time to set-up and tear-down our own gear except for the guitars.
The contest begins tomorrow morning for the first round, and if we progress into the next rounds; we’ll play again in the afternoon; and then again on Saturday morning and afternoon if we continue through to the finals. We’ll obviously have more on that – and the rest of the festival news – with our next updates; so stay tuned for that! As for the rest of our evening, we came home from the park; Naomi and Aiden stayed for a Magi lesson with Mom; we all took Silkie and walked them home and also stopped in to visit the Everetts and their guests. Micah and Jeremy were there already; and that’s why Jaimie and Kaitlyn only talked with us for a minute or two before getting back to the reunion with their boyfriends. We came home after that; did a bit of work in the office; and just finished up with bath or Jacuzzi time. Now we need to get some sleep to be ready for all of the festival fun; so that’s all we have for this report.
