Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - February 24, 2020

Ehlana and Ethan:

Twin music practices and bedtime chats continue tonight; so we’ll multi-task our journal update again too.

The good news for today is that the temperature stayed above freezing again; and that’s working out for us because we’ve gotten a lot of rain instead of a snowstorm.  A wet day ‘encouraged’ us to stay indoors as much as possible, but we still walked to school this morning; and then on to the lab after that before eventually getting a ride home from there with Uncle Adam.  Rain didn’t keep us from having a good day at school; the lab or archives work was great; and we were glad to get back to that again after a few days off.

Dinner and a work or study night with Mom and Dad was fun too; and we always feel happier about that right after Dad gets back from his visits to the city.  Our studying included both a Magi and music lesson to go along with our doctoral research; so there was a lot of fun mixed in with the work for all of us.  A time phase has kept us from being up late too; though we have used up some extra ‘real’ time with the bonus music fun after being sent up to bed with a round of hugs and kisses.

That, by the way, is something that is becoming different for us compared to Cassie at our age – or near to it.  She had regular bedtime stories and chats with Mom and Dad – as well as Aunt Leanne and Uncle Adam – for years after Mom and Dad got married.  We aren’t doing that differently because we’re too-cool for that; we’ve just had story time since before birth; and even Dad ran out of new stories to tell us eventually.  There will be many other things that we won’t do exactly the same as Cassie did as we head from here through our teen years; that’s okay with all of us; and Mom and Dad probably appreciate the variety! ;^)

There isn’t really anything to add for today, so we’ll wrap this up; and go get some sleep.  Our adventures for the next couple of days will likely be a bit quieter, but the plan is to get extra work done again; and then be ready for some bonus fun this weekend – at the Maple Valley Winterfest.  We might not actually have any winter-worthy weather to go along with the festival, but we can manage to have fun anyway – and enjoy all of the maple syrup based treats that are the true highlights of the festival!

We might be getting a sugar rush just thinking about that, so we’re out of here; and moving on to nap time before we’re too fired-up to sleep.

This is Ehlana Proctor; live from the hidden home of the Magi of the Light – and may the Magi Force be with you!
