Ehlana:
This has been our coldest day of the winter,
and while it will start warming again tomorrow; Valentine’s Day is going to be
very cold for most of the day too. I’m
fairly-sure that Thursday the 13th hasn’t suddenly become unlucky
too, but it feels odd to have the coldest temperatures so far this winter
happening around what should be the warmest, happiest day of the month!
We’ve mostly had a wind-down day for the
school week, since tomorrow will mostly be a party and play day. We’ve finished up the holiday-themed crafts,
projects, and assignments; there was a quiz; and the gossip was all about
Valentine’s Day too. Ethan and I were on
our own with Mom after school; we helped her out with chores to get ready for
the weekend; and that kept us busy until dinnertime. Our guests will be arriving during the day
tomorrow while we’re at school, but I’ll add more about that with the next
report – along with all of the Valentine’s Day related news. For today, we had a quiet dinner-for-four at
home; and then the holiday-themed game night at the Inn was a blast. Boys and girls needed to be paired up for the
night, so Ethan was with Naomi for the games; and Aiden was with me. We had fun; that wasn’t weird for any of us;
and will be a fact of life in our not-so-distant future. Our teams didn’t win any prizes tonight, but
that is because we need to hold back and play ‘normal’ for our age compared to
the other kids and teens; so it’ll be a few more years before that’ll change
for us – and longer before Naomi can try to be like Miranda and want to win
every week.
Not much happened after we got home. Ethan and I did a Magi lesson with Mom and
then were sent upstairs for baths ahead of bedtime. I’ve had a longer soak in my Jacuzzi, so it’s
getting late; and it’s time for me to wrap this up and get some sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day; we’re
sure to be up late too; and it’s going to be great to have weekend guests too.
I want to be ready for all of the fun, so I’m
out of here; and off to dreamland starting right now.
This is Ehlana Proctor; live from the
hidden home of the Magi of the Light!

Ethan:
I’ll leave the news of the day to Ehlana;
and will only offer a bit of commentary before wrapping up and moving on to
some bedtime reading.
Regardless of how old we are; there are
some guys with a talent for getting into trouble with girls for stupid reasons!
Yes, that is obvious – to every girl; yet
most of those guys I’m referring to are oblivious to that reality too. If you don’t agree; you’re likely one of
those guys! ;^)
There have been examples of that all day
today – at school; and then at the Inn tonight too. I won’t include names, but a couple of the
guys around our age were particularly-annoying to girls that they actually like
but are too-cool to admit it to anyone; so their attempts at holiday-themed
jokes and pranks did not go over well – or went exactly as they’d
expected. I really don’t think that you
need to be a junior Magi Master to understand why messing up holidays for your
favorite girls is a bad idea, but I really wish those guys would wise up; since
the fall-out from their misguided actions affects the rest of us. Aiden and I, for example, had some angry
scowls and comments directed our way for having the audacity of not messing up
with Ehlana and Naomi even once all day.
I’ve thought about getting into trouble with Naomi just to help out with
that problem, but can’t bring myself to do that even if it might work.
That’d need to be an act that Naomi helped
with anyway; since our link and bond would make it impossible for me to fake
something like that without her knowing about it.
Instead of trying to do things like that,
maybe those guys should really just stop doing their best to annoy those girls,
but while that’s a nice thought; I don’t expect any miracles to happen by
tomorrow; so the kid and teen drama is sure to continue for at least a few more
days – or weeks; depending on how badly those guys mess up. I should likely stop there, since even
Michael and Tim had their moments back when they were tweens – if not with
Cassie or Rowen. I’ll still hope that I
don’t ever mess up with Naomi, but I’m a guy; so anything is possible!
That won’t be a problem tomorrow, but that’ll
be news for the next update, and I don’t want to drone on about this now; so I’ll
move on to that reading and then get some sleep ahead of all of the
heart-warming fun we’ll be having over the next few days.
May the Magi Force be with you!
