Ehlana:
We’ve had a wet, cold day around here; and
that was reason-enough to spend most of it indoors again. I’d sound like a broken record with another
repeat day, but kids my age don’t know what
that means in a digital age; and our ‘glitches’ in video games or apps
don’t work for that analogy the way skipping records once did for our
grandparents! ;^)
That’s why I’m going to skip the non-news
from home; make an exception; and write about world news instead.
My commentary isn’t about any specific
topic – I’ve just been thinking about news priorities today – or what seems to
be a tendency to get fixated on less-important things while ignoring or
minimizing the big problems in the world.
The top stories that made the news from last night and today seem to be
a good example of that to me. I wouldn’t
want to make light of our presidential elections, but in the grand scheme of
things, do the New Hampshire primaries vote results really warrant days or
weeks of endless coverage and commentary?
The network news channels likely spent more time talking about that than
they’ve spent in the last month on the protests and strikes in France. I don’t want to get bogged down with the
endless examples of more-important stories that could and should be what we
care about a lot more than the political theatre that is our Capitol and
government – or other gossip news from Hollywood and elsewhere that is as much
of a pointless distraction.
I get that serious problems and issues can
seem too-challenging and overwhelming – not to mention seriously-boring for
kids and teens. I’m also not suggesting
that we all stop having fun or happiness in our lives so that we can focus
entirely on those big issues, but it seems past-time that we also don’t waste
time or stress over the unimportant issues that so many people in power want to
use as distractions from everything that we really should care about instead.
I’d like to think that we get that right
most of the time here at home – and with everything that we collectively do
through the family business. Our
families, friends, and neighbors come first, since if we can’t take care of
ourselves; we can’t help anyone else.
The family business does not waste resources on politics or any of the
other ‘distractions’ I’ve been writing about tonight. We help out where truly needed as much as
possible; try to mitigate the damage from problems that we can’t have any
control over – like wars or natural disasters; and we accept our
limitations. That last part isn’t any
different for Magi Masters than for normal people – except for the amount of
personal power we possess. Sure, that
can be frustrating for all of us, and as an example; I’m feeling that now when
we’re not able to help out with the coronavirus outbreak; and wishing that we
could come up with a cure or vaccine.
That’s enough for tonight; so I’ll wrap
this up by reminding everyone reading this in the future that love, joy, and
happiness is what the Ascension of the Light is all about. Find that for yourself first; share it with
the people you love-most while helping them to have that too; and then spread
that live and joy to as many people as you can.
If we could eventually get seven or eight billion people doing that at
the same time; we’d likely be able to solve all of those big problems!
This is Ehlana Proctor; live from the
hidden home of the Magi of the Light!

Ethan:
This has been another long, busy work and
study day, but while Ehlana’s in a more-serious mood tonight; I’m thinking more
about the happier side of life. That’s
partly because the Valentine-themed fun at school continued today; and then my
archives work was on the lighter side too as I got into a book written by a
Magi Master with a comedic talent in his observations about his ancient society
and rulers. His brand of satire would
have likely gotten him executed by those rulers had they ever found out about
his books, but let’s not take that thought too-far. I really want to stay happy; and probably
wouldn’t do that if I start thinking about how our leaders ignore the lessons
we should learn from history and then commit atrocities that can be even-worse –
or at least on a much-larger scale than was possible millennia ago.
Okay, let’s get back to the love and
happiness. While we got a lot of work
done today, that’s pretty much going to be it for Ehlana and I for the week –
or that’ll be true by dinnertime tomorrow.
We have weekend guests coming to town, so we’ll help Mom with some
chores after school tomorrow, but then we’ll have the special Valentine game
night at the Inn tomorrow night; and Friday will be a fun day with our family
and friends – including at school and then with what is going to feel like a
holiday weekend with those guests in town.
I’ll leave that surprise for our updates on Friday, but that’s a happy
thought to end on; so I’ll do that; call it a night; and move on to my nap time
now.
May the Magi Force be with you!
