Ehlana:
Before I get to the news of the day; I
should add a couple of comments about our adventures on Saturday that Ethan
didn’t write about.
It’s no surprise that he didn’t include
anything about the girls’ side of the shopping fun yesterday morning. There was a Valentine’s Day sale still in
progress on Saturday along with some winter clearance bargains; so we had fun
and picked up some great deals too – including a couple of outfits and a pair
of boots for me that I won’t grow into until next winter. Small town shopping may seem a bit boring for
our more-worldly cousins and friends, but Jaimie and Kaitlyn appreciate Abby’s
taste in fashion; and haven’t really gotten into the really high-end fashion
that their Mom prefers when she wants to look her very best.
Ethan also avoided mentioning the boys that
spent some time with our cousins yesterday too, and while that wasn’t a
surprise for Kaitlyn, since she keeps in touch with Jeremy Green, but Micah
Byrd spent some time with Jaimie yesterday too – including during some of the
biking and park time. I’ll also suggest
that some of the other guys their age may have gotten into some trouble with
the local girls for noticing Jaimie and Kaitlyn a bit more than they should –
especially today while we were all at church and Sunday school. I don’t know if that’ll be true for Jeremy
too, but there’s a good chance that Micah is one of those guys who are in
trouble because the girl he went to the Valentine’s dance with did not look
happy when I saw her after Sunday school.
Jeremy had a date for the dance too, but that was more of a going out
with a best friend kind of thing. He’d
try dating Kaitlyn long-distance if she’d go for it, but while she doesn’t do
that; she also doesn’t have any boyfriends back home either.
Okay, let’s move on to the news for today.
We had a busy morning here with all of the
kids to get fed and ready for church.
Terry and Angela came over for breakfast; we had a fun vid-chat with
Cassie and Michael during breakfast that allowed us to catch up on their
weekend news; and then we walked to church because it was nice-enough to do
that.
I’ll take the Cassie and Michael side-trip
here. Their Valentine’s Day news seemed
a bit spotty and missing a lot of the story, but they had a special lunch with some
friends; a smaller gang with them for dinner at their favorite Chinese
restaurant; and then they went to a dance-party on-campus that Cassie and
Michael actually managed to attend without any problems! They had a chores-shopping morning on
Saturday; a study afternoon; and then a Rec Center play evening after a fast
food dinner. Their plans for today
included going to church; an afternoon study session; and then a quiet night at
home – probably doing the same thing that they were busy with for all of those
hours they didn’t include in the rest of their weekend update! ;^)
I don’t want to think about that sort of
thing; so let’s move along and wrap this up.
After church, we went to the Inn for a
family and friends lunch. Dad, Terry,
and Uncle Blaine had one last meeting for their galleria project after that,
and while they were busy; we – the kids – went out for one more round of biking
the trails at the park while the Moms and other parents and kids either spent
time at our house or elsewhere for the afternoon. The continuing warmer weather made that
biking a lot of fun; so we were all in a great mood when it was time for our
guests to head out and on their way back to their own homes. We also had Valerie and Marcus ready for
naps; so that worked out great for their parents too. Kaitlyn had a bonus goodbye with Jeremy when
they left; and that added a bit of extra entertainment for all of us –
especially since they’re still having fun teasing Uncle Blaine.
They should likely stop that sooner instead
of later; since there are a lot of payback opportunities available for their
parents – not to mention the weird that goes along with thinking about what
might have been if Uncle Blaine had ended up with Jeremy’s Mom instead of Aunt
Alison!
Moving along – again, Ethan and I were put
to work on some chores once our guests were gone; so Naomi and Aiden left then
too – for the bakery or home. After
lunch at the Inn, we opted for an easy-dinner; and then our evening has been a
standard work-study night as Dad got ready for his week in the city. Mom used a time phase for that work, so it
isn’t that late yet, but we’ll need to get up early; so I’m past-ready to crash
and nap now. That’s all I have for this
report; so I’ll just end it here; and get to that sleeping part of my day.
This is Ehlana Proctor; live from the
hidden home of the Magi of the Light!

Ethan:
I had the last update; you already know
that Ehlana has this one well-covered – though she hasn’t written it yet; and I’ve
had enough fun for today so I’ll leave that to her and call it a night.
May the Magi Force be with you!
