Ethan:
It’s weird, but life is back to normal
today; and Cassie’s had no new problems from Gwyneth’s goon squad. We’ve had a very normal day here – from Tai
Chi this morning through to our evening studying and an early bedtime. Ehlana and I had some play time at the lab
after school; we’ve had a good evening with Mom and Dad; and that’s all of the
news I have for tonight.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
I don’t have any news from home for today
either, but I am going to write about other news events for a change – if for
no other reason than to document that we do keep up with the news from around
the world – even if we don’t write about it very often. This also isn’t going to turn into any kind
of rant; though we do regularly wish that a lot of things could be different –
and that everyone would care about our world as much as we do.
Let’s start with the weather. It sometimes feels as though we’re in some
sort of protected zone when extreme weather can be found in so many other
places, but I can assure you that we’re not using our Magi talents to modify
the weather around our town – and we do get bad weather now and then too. That just hasn’t happened this winter the way
it has elsewhere. We’re also, for the
most part, safe from flooding that can be such a problem in other parts of the
country; but I’m thinking about that a lot because of our work on crops that
are flood and drought-resistant. We’re
not quite ready to help out with that on a global scale yet, but we will be
able to help more farmers than ever before this year; and that is something
that will continue to be a major effort for the lab.
While I’m on the issue of crops; let’s move
on to GMO crops and pesticides; since they’re big news thanks to some recent
court cases and other stories. First up,
the work we do at the lab is not the same as what is generally done when it
comes to genetically-modified crops.
Think of what we do as a Magi-powered development of crop hybrids –
something that farmers have done ‘naturally’ for a long time to create more-resilient
crops. We don’t use chemical pesticides;
and we’re working toward farming diversity and nature-based solutions to
improve farming while protecting our environment. That’s a bit of a rant; so let’s move on
before I get going on that one. ;^)
There’s too much to cover when it comes to
all of the wars and conflicts going on around the world; so I’ll only offer one
comment. Stop all of that nonsense; or
we, the Magi of the Light – will get around to stopping you instead as we lead
the way toward the Ascension of the Light.
All of the money wasted on militaries and wars could do a lot of good if
used to help people – and if we all did that; then we’d have nothing to fight
about!
Okay, that was two comments; but still not
a rant.
I could include a very long rant about the
environment, but instead of doing that; I’ll just suggest that people better
start taking the environmental problems seriously; or the Ascension of the
Light could happen with a lot-fewer people in the world to share in all of that
love and joy. For that, I’m not talking
about global warming – I’m referring to all of the really-serious problems like
pollution, species decline and extinctions, and resources depletion. Whatever your view on climate change; how hot
or cold the planet is won’t matter much if we don’t have food, clean water, or
fresh air to sustain all life on the planet.
I’m not going to touch politics or
economics tonight, but we’d likely all be better-off without most or all
politicians; and I’ll hope that Michael can eventually use his talents to save
us from most economists. While I’m
there; let’s skip over the ‘mainstream’ news media – and I’m strictly saying
that because we don’t care at all about what they spend most of their time
telling us we should care about; and they usually spout off nonsense about the
really important issues we really do all need to care about the most.
Okay, that’s enough for tonight – and now
you know why we don’t normally write about current worldly events in our
journals. ;^)
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
