Ethan:
This had ended up being a quiet day around
here; and we’re heading to bed early because Dad will be up early for his trip
to the city. He’ll only be there for
four days because of the Easter holiday, but that’ll just have him a bit busier
than normal; and he can get away with the shorter trips now and then if he
plans everything carefully.
We’ve had a good morning here – including our
time at church and Sunday school; lunch for four at home was quick and easy;
and then Ehlana and I had some play time with Naomi and Aiden that included a
bit of biking; a visit to the lab that they came along for; and then we met up
with our families at the Inn for the buffet dinner. Dad had needed to work all afternoon anyway;
so that worked out for him too; and Mom kept him company while multi-tasking
some of her own work and chores around the house.
There was some weekend wrap-up work and
studying after we got home, but that was done in a time phase; so the baths and
early bedtime were still an option – and I’m going to wrap this up and get to
the sleep part of my night while I can.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
Ethan’s covered the news from around here;
so I’ll only add a couple of news nuggets that aren’t directly affecting us.
First, we – the girls – heard from Cassie
and Rowen that two of their hometown friends may be patching up their relationship
after a college break-up. I won’t
mention names here, but include that news because they’re an example of an
issue that does happen even in our little town when some kids get their first
experiences in big cities and especially at big colleges. One of those friends kept her head; while the
other got into the party scene and lost his for a while. With final exams approaching fast, though, it
appears that reality has hit home; he’s begged for help; and she’s agreed to do
that for him. Other girls were involved
in their issues, so that help doesn’t mean automatically getting back together
with him, but at least they do have a chance now. From what Cassie told us, he’s on the brink
of blowing his freshman year; so we’ll see whether he manages to get it
together and salvage both his education and relationship with his girlfriend.
Next up – the weather. I know that I’ve covered this topic a few
times recently – and don’t usually do that unless we’re directly affected, but
the news continues to be how much of the extreme weather we keep dodging here
at home. I’m not asking for that kind of
excitement – simply commenting on the fact that we’ve been very lucky to dodge
everything from spring snowstorms to torrential rains, tornados, and the rest
of the bad weather that seems to be coming in never-ending waves to our country
this winter and spring. I will take that
news opportunity to mention that we do help where needed through our family
businesses, but we don’t have the resources to help everyone – just as we can’t
simply use our Magi talents to prevent natural disasters.
Okay, that’s all for me. Ethan and I want to get up early to see Dad
off on his trip; so it’s time to crash and nap now.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
