Ethan:
It’s Good Friday – the only holiday of the
year that isn’t a celebration; which is why it’s weird to write about all of
the fun we had today. We’re in a quick
break in the entertainment tonight; so this is going to be a short report so
that I can get back to the video gaming and join in on the pizza snack that is
going to be ready for us soon.
It was nice to have Cassie home this
morning, though we let her sleep in as long as possible, so she missed out on
Tai Chi; and then we had a quiet breakfast for six before cleaning up and
heading to church for the Good Friday service.
As always, it was appropriately-solemn and only lasted forty-five
minutes before we were set free again.
As a Magi Master, I don’t want to trivialize the crucifixion, but it’s
accurate to report that the service and meaning of the day is not something
that the kids our age spend much time even thinking about let alone spending
the day remembering. Our connection with
God gives Magi Masters a different perspective too, but I am going to keep this
update short; so let’s write about more-serious theology another time.
After the service, we stopped at home to
get changed; and then the kids in the family got to play for the rest of the
day. During the late morning and
afternoon, that included biking, park, and playground fun with our cousins and
friends; we had a couple of meals; and then we have a small gang of kids and
teens here for the night – including Jayden, Aiden, Naomi, and Sophia with
Ehlana and me. Dawn, Jaimie, and Kaitlyn
are here too; and Cassie and Michael have only joined us after having dinner
and some family time with his parents and siblings. Michael’s staying here tonight too; mostly
because Cassie needed to be here to hang out with our cousins tonight. We watched a girls’ choice movie after
dinner; that was the compromise for us to get gaming for the rest of the night;
and I’m taking this break while the pizza is being cooked – and because I got
knocked out of the gaming because Dawn is a pilot and kicked my butt in the
aerial video game that we picked to play while Michael and Cassie are busy with
the pizza snack work.
Okay, I’m out of time; we will keep gaming
until Mom and Dad send us to bed; and then we’ll have a nap before moving on to
all of the fun we have booked for tomorrow!
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
That’s pretty much got the news of the day
covered. I’ll add that we – the girls –
are having chat time while the boys do most of the gaming; and while the kids
got to play this afternoon; Cassie and Michael worked on their weekend assignments
in the office with Rowen and Tim until Cassie and Michael needed to be at his
house for dinner. Finally, for the
record, Sophia is not here for the night as a plus-one for Jayden – though it
is convenient that we have three boys and three girls. It’s also funny that we are getting teased
about that by the teens that didn’t try to set up Dawn, Jaimie, and Kaitlyn
with ‘dates’ for the night. ;^)
I don’t have gaming to get back to, but do
need to wrap this up; or the boys will have the pizzas demolished before I get
back to the lounge. We’ve had an amazing
first day of the holiday weekend; and the fun is going to kick up a few notches
tomorrow – especially since we’ll get to spend more time with Cassie!
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
