Ehlana and Ethan:
Happy 9th Anniversary, Uncle
Adam and Aunt Leanne!
Their celebration today was minimal for
more than just the virus social distancing, but Aunt Leanne and Brianna love
having a baby in the house; and we won’t comment on the jokes we’re hearing
about a coronavirus anniversary baby brother or sister for Brianna and
Zack! The new baby news has led to more
family fun today because Tory and Kyle have come to town for baby delivery
services now too. They’re staying with
Uncle Nick and Aunt Deborah; Tory is also due within the next week; and those
choices are sure to provide family entertainment for years to come. The jokes about our little town becoming the
regional capital for coronavirus births is making the comedy rounds too, but
that isn’t likely to actually happen; since non-family pregnant women wouldn’t
exactly have a lot of places to stay while here; and our clinic doesn’t have
the capacity for dozens of patients at a time anyway.
As an aside, that’s actually something we
haven’t written about so far, but clinic capacity for dealing with more than a
few serious coronavirus cases at a time has been discussed and considered, so
while we don’t expect that to be an issue; we could expand if we needed more beds.
Okay, let’s get to our personal news of the
day. Tai Chi by the river at Aiden’s
house was awesome; Olde Bakery leftovers for breakfast was pretty good too; and
then we headed for Naomi’s house for our home schooling that kept us busy until
lunchtime. We’re getting lots of rain
tonight, but that held off this afternoon until after lunch and an hour or so
of biking. Naomi and Aiden moved on to
do their own things after that; while we headed for the lab and archives for
the rest of the day. We were home for
pizzeria pizza dinner; and then we’ve been out of the way of our favorite
collegians since then so that they can keep focused on their exam studies with
their friends via video conferencing.
While they’ve been busy with that; we’ve
had a music practice; some ‘real’ studying; and tub or Jacuzzi time. Now we’re ready to get some sleep, but before
we do that; let’s do a micro-update on local coronavirus news that we aren’t
really involved in at all.
First up, plans are being made – and work
is being done – to get ready to reopen businesses for at least limited
customers; and we could have a return to church services too – though that
might happen with multiple services each week so that social distancing can
continue. We’ll have more on that
sometime this weekend, but we do know that we’ll be able to do more around town
in stages that could start by Saturday.
We can also report that our Memorial Day weekend plans are being scaled
back – mostly because we don’t expect to have nearly the number of visitors
coming to town this year for obvious reasons; and we’re not going to try and
promote anything locally either. There
will still be the parade and picnic at the park – though if we’re going to get
rain; the picnic might need to be cancelled instead of moved into the gym at
the school. Finally, Cassie now knows
for sure that her summer session is going to be online instead of on-campus. She hasn’t decided what she’ll do for those
weeks yet, but may split her time between home and the townhouse, since even
though she won’t be doing in-person classes; studying with some of her college
friends might be possible as long as the social restrictions are eased by then.
That news is going to affect what Cassie
and Michael do for living arrangements here at home, but we’ve expected that
they’ll move over to Michael’s house sometime shortly after they wrap up their
exams anyway; since he’ll start spending some time helping out at the Inn again
too. May will stay with us, but then she’s
going to do some traveling as soon as she can too; so she won’t likely be stuck
here and bored for the entire summer. We’d
like to do some traveling too, but that might not be an option this summer; and
we seriously-doubt that May would like to take four kids along on her
adventures anyway.
That suggestion has some potential for fun
dreams, so let’s wrap this up; call it a night; and we’ll move on to nap time
starting right now.

the hidden home of the Magi of the Light – and May the Magi Force be with you!
