Ehlana, Ethan, Naomi, and Aiden:
Welcome to the family, James Edward Johnson
– and congratulations to the proud parents, his big brother, and everyone in
the Johnson clan!
Compared to that; our day has been
uneventful, but we have had a good day, and we’re happily enjoying a sleepover
night at Aiden’s house; so let’s get to our personal news of the day.
Tai Chi by the river was cooler this
morning; and it didn’t warm up all that much today – only to near-sixty. There wasn’t any rain, so that didn’t get in
the way of some biking at the park and on the trail around town, but we had
lunch at home after our study morning; and spent a bit more time at the lab
this afternoon too – though we didn’t get to work with Uncle Adam while he was
busy delivering his newest cousin. That ‘we’
should have been ‘me’ anyway, since Ethan, Naomi, and Aiden all opted for
hanging out in the lab, but Dillon and I had fun in the level-four lab. Take that as meant, since we do take our
research on the coronavirus very seriously, but I also have to admit that the
work is exciting too – at least for anyone that finds this kind of science
fascinating.
We left the lab early-enough for three of
us to go home and pack overnight bags and our musical instruments; dinner at
the Draper’s house was kid-friendly finger foods; and then our music jam
session was early so that we made the noise and entertained Aiden’s parents and
sister before his Dad needed to get to bed.
That was a fun highlight, and then after the parents went to bed; we
settled into the family room for some movie watching and cuddle time. Hailey joined us for the first movie; she’s
still with us because she fell asleep; and we’ll likely just keep her here with
us for the night unless Hannah checks in with us and wants to move her. Having a little sister sleeping next to us
isn’t a problem for our co-ed cuddling, but even if Ethan and Naomi fall asleep
together; Aiden and I won’t be doing that too – because we don’t have the room
for that on the sofa we’re sharing with Hailey.
Either way, that’s a non-issue compared to
the major problems of the world; so let’s not add more about it.
We should mention that the talk about
lifting lockdowns and restrictions around the country and world, but just as we
were early for some of our choices here in town; we’ll be careful on lifting
the restrictions too. That’s a balancing
act, since we don’t want to get attention for being too-conservative, but we
will do what’s right for our friends and neighbors; and we still do have many
of the same economic issues as everyone else – even as we’re doing much better
with taking care of each other too.
There are likely going to be changes happening by this weekend, though,
so stay tuned for more news as we get that information from our parents.
Our movie watching is continuing, and we
want to get back to it; so that’s all for tonight – or not.
One last note should be included about our
favorite collegians – especially since they’re part of the reason for why we’re
here tonight. They’re really into exam
studies; major video conferencing is happening with their friends. We’re not out of the way because of the
late-night studying or the noise – we’re helping out by taking our online data
usage down the street. That might sound
weird to you in the distant future, depending on how the internet works in your
world, but our current version of the town network has connections all over the
town; there are limits; and we didn’t want to cause any problems at our house
or for nearby neighbors when their work is far more-important than our movies
and cuddling.
Okay, maybe the cuddling is as important at
least for our own lives, but we can do that anywhere; and their studying works
best with our systems at home.
Now we can move on to the movie and
cuddling; so we’re out of here!
