Ehlana and Ethan:
Our co-ed, backyard camping adventure was
great; included a barbeque dinner, canoe ride, and campfire; and then we
cuddled in pairs and got some sleep for the rest of the night after staying up
too-late to chat and listen to music videos on an iPad. We’ve been having a rinse-and-repeat day
since Tai Chi by the river – though the extra exercise buddies made that more
fun for us too. We studied all morning;
took a picnic lunch along for our biking and play time at the park; and now we’re
doing another early update while getting ready for another camping night. We’re also getting a sprinkle or three of
rain, but that isn’t going to last; and it just makes for a convenient time to
re-stock for camping while Naomi and Aiden check in with their parents at home
or the bakery.
The rest of our day will likely be a lot
like last night; though we might get to spend more time with Cassie, Michael,
and May – depending on how much time Cassie and Michael need to spend on
wedding work for Rebecca and Lucas. We
haven’t really written anything about their wedding, but we’re not involved in
the work or planning; and they’re just getting busy now because they can
actually make decisions that were in limbo while they waited to find out what
they could or couldn’t do for the ceremony and reception. They will be able to go with something more
than a livestream ceremony, so while they’re a bit disappointed that they can’t
share the day with everyone they love most; that is much better than having no
celebration at all. We should also add
that their honeymoon has been deferred, but then this is the wrong time of year
for holidays from farm work or pizzerias; so they hadn’t planned anything major
in the first place – more of the kind of long weekend that Jen and Garrett went
with for their honeymoon.
We don’t need to comment on what they’ll be
doing instead – other than that they’ll have a room at the Inn; so let’s wrap
this up.
We haven’t been playing at the lab today,
but can multi-task thinking about our work there; so coronavirus isn’t just
something we’re dealing with on the everyday living side of our lives. Passing five million confirmed cases around
the world is a thought-provoking milestone too; though that number isn’t accurate;
and we probably won’t ever know the exact totals until years from now. Going into a long commentary about this – or a
rant about what we think of the politics-of-crises; we’ll just move on; get
back to having fun with our family and best friends; and enjoy the rest of a
really great day.
