Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 10th Anniversary, Uncle Mark and Aunt Grace!
Our hometown celebration for our aunt and uncle happened early this morning during a breakfast buffet at the Inn, and we had a lot of fun with that; and won’t need the details for the best parts of the four-day getaway they are now having fun with at an undisclosed getaway location! Caleb and Faith are staying with the Carringtons while their parents are away – though they’ll likely be doing at least one sleepover with other friends; and then we’ll all be involved in the camping night for Brianna’s birthday on Saturday.
We had breakfast with Cassie, Michael, Kaitlyn, and Jeremy; with the ‘we’ including Naomi and Aiden. That has been our first chance to spend any quality time with Kaitlyn since she came home with Jeremy and the Everetts from their holiday weekend away; and we had a lot of fun with the conversation that included a stroll down memory lane that included discussing Cassie and Michael’s first date at Uncle Mark and Aunt Grace’s wedding and how Jaimie and Kaitlyn felt back then to have Aunt Grace moving here – and away from them. We knew that back then too, but it felt different to talk about it today; and our perspective was different back then for obvious reasons. Kaitlyn offered some comments and jokes about how that has changed for her – and for Jaimie too, and while they are both still years away from a permanent move home; they’re very happy about having a future that will be here with us too. Let’s not think about that too-much right now, since we’ll be heading off to college at about the same time that our cousins will be moving here; so that future for all of us is still a decade and change away – a long time for twelve-year-old kids!
After we saw the couple of honor on their way after breakfast, it was time to head home and do some chores because we need to get that work done ahead of the birthday adventures on Saturday. We worked until around one o’clock; Mom fed a gang of us for lunch; and then we played all afternoon. Those adventures included biking, swimming, and a snack break and play time with Cassie and Michael when we stopped in there for a visit because we love just being able to do that; and they need us to add some bonus fun to their work days! That last part isn’t really true, since they did have that family breakfast this morning and had dinner plans with Rowen and Tim today too, but let’s not let facts get in the way of our need to spend more time with Cassie and Michael now that they’re home to stay. As for the rest of our day, we eventually came home in time to help Mom with making dinner while Naomi and Aiden moved on to spend the rest of the day with their own families. Dad had extra work to get done in the office to get ahead of his work because of our weekend plans too, so we had an easy-meal dinner; took care of the clean-up; and then we had family business work to keep us busy for a couple of hours. Mom did a Magi lesson with us too; we followed all of that up with bath or Jacuzzi time; and now we’re winding down toward nap time. The Carringtons have a gang of cousins and friends at their house tonight, and we probably could have gotten in on those adventures, but we really just wanted another quieter night before life gets busier for us again for the next few days. We still have chores to get done tomorrow too, and we may need to dodge some rain and storms while doing that; so we’ll likely be glad that we didn’t stay up half the night with our cousins.
We’ll let you know how that goes for us, but that’s it for now; so we’re going to wrap this up and head off to dreamland soon.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
