Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - July 3, 2023

Ethan and Ehlana:

We’re home tonight and only have the Malloys with us tonight while everyone else is also going with a quiet night ahead of the Fourth of July festivities tomorrow.  Valerie and Marcus are sleeping; so we’re able to do this update at a near-normal time while winding down with some quality twin chat time.

The buffet dinner at the Inn and our evening with Cassie and Michael kept the fun going since our last update yesterday afternoon; we stayed up a bit too-late again; and it was worth it to lose a bit of sleep for the movies, games, and co-ed sofa sleepover adventures!  We were still up early this morning for Tai Chi by the river and breakfast; and then we met up with all of the trail riders and ranch adventurers for the trip out to our favorite ranch for the trail ride or corral adventure that kept some of us busy while other members of the family opted for some shopping in town.  We all headed for Quarry Lake by late-morning and had a blast while there – though it was very busy there and we couldn’t all get in on some of our favorite activities like the rock wall and zip line.  Everything about our water play fun and the picnic lunch was great, and the only downside of those plans for today affected Aiden and me because we needed to be home again by three o’clock for our make-up ball game.  We didn’t have a cheer squad for that game because nearly everyone else stayed at Quarry Lake, but wishing we were still there might have motivated us to help our team with the win.  Other members of the family were home before the end of our game, but that was to work on the dinner plans for another barbeque.

That meal was the last event with everyone together; most of the guests headed for various homes once the clean-up was done; and our evening since then has included bath or Jacuzzi time, a movie in the lounge, and early bedtime stories for the kids and tweens in the house while the parents are winding down toward an early bedtime too – though that is by comparison to the rest of the weekend so far.  We’re pretty much ready to wrap this up now and move on to dreamland soon; so that’s all we have for now.  There may only be one more day to go in our extended holiday weekend, but it should also be the best day too; so stay tuned for those stories while we rest up to be ready to live them! ;^)

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
