Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - July 5, 2023

Ethan and Ehlana:

This has been another very busy day, but in this case; we’ve been working for most of the day.  Tai Chi by the river was a quiet, too-early start to our fun followed by a last breakfast with the Malloys before they packed up and headed for home.  We helped with the work on both sides of that meal; made sure that Valerie and Marcus were packed and ready to go by the time their father finished a round of morning meetings with our favorite local contractors; and then we saw them off by late-morning.  There were other chores mixed in – including some outdoor work, but when the thunderstorms and rain moved into town; we stayed indoors for most of the afternoon and took care of everything from running loads of laundry to cleaning guest rooms and bathrooms.  Naomi and Aiden helped us; we helped them at their homes; and we were all ready to take a break when we stopped – and split up – for dinner with our own families.  That felt weird after spending most of the past week having a lot of our meals together, but that is supposed to be the norm – even when it will continue to be the exception for us because we’ll still be doing a lot together all summer!

Moving along, we got back together for the co-ed ball practice at the park because we were helping out with the youngest kids.  The rain had moved on by the time we stopped for dinner, but there was still a lot of wet left behind; so we couldn’t do as much with the kids tonight.  We took them for a walk on the main path; watched some of the practice; and played a few games at one of the pavilions where the picnic tables had stayed dry.  While we had fun with the kids, we were also ready to give them back to their parents and head for our homes after the practice.  Mom skipped doing a Magi lesson with us or any family business work because she’s tired too; so bath or Jacuzzi time was last on our to-do list for today – not including the usual bedtime computing and twin chat wrap up to our adventures.

We’re there now, and don’t really have anything to add for this update.  We also need to be up early for the next family celebration, so we really want to catch up on our sleep so that we’ll be ready for that next blast of fun.  While we do that, feel free to flip the digital page whenever you’re reading this in our future and read all about the adventures that we’ll be living in our tomorrow!

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
