Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - August 6, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 35th Birthday, Aunt Deborah!

Happy 7th Birthday, Alex Byrd!

Happy 6th Anniversary, Neil and Michelle!

We don’t have much time again right now; so let’s just get to a few of the highlights and then we need to get back to the fun with our family and friends.

Aunt Deborah’s special day is about to be the focus of the rest of our day, but those stories can wait for our next report.  This morning we were busy with baseball – just as we were for the early evening last night; and our family teams won three out of four of our baseball battles.  Brianna and Faith were disappointed when their Shelties’ team lost to the Poodles by a couple of runs, but they played well; and managed to have fun anyway.  Ehlana and I – and our teams – had better luck and earned wins; so the second-half of our morning was really great.  The co-ed game last night was a win for ‘our’ team too; so we’re wrapping up the cousins’ hometown vacation on a sports high note.

Our afternoon has included some biking and back yard and river play time, but we also just finished up with a couple of hours of work to help with getting ready for Aunt Deborah’s dinner and party.  This update is happening while we’re getting cleaned up and ready for the rest of the day, and we supposedly needed to do that to get ready for our ‘dates’ with Aiden and Naomi.  I only put the word ‘dates’ in quotes because most of the guests to this party probably wouldn’t consider the event an actual dating opportunity.  Naomi definitely does, though; so it is definitely a real date for me! ;^)

Uncle Nick is technically hosting the party tonight with a lot of help from family and friends, but we’re hosting the camping in our back yard – the last we’ll have with our visiting cousins before they head home tomorrow; so we’ll split our time between the back yards.  The weather has continued to cooperate; so that is working out for us too.  Keeping this short isn’t really happening yet; so I’d better move this along.

I need to mention that the family-and-friends’ dinner last night was rushed a bit because of the co-ed ball game; we had a blast with that meal, the baseball entertainment, and the campfire that ended up being a major event with a gang of friends, neighbors, ball players, and family joining in on the fun.  Naomi and Aiden joined us for our turn at offering music; and our efforts were as-appreciated as the amazing duets that Cassie and Michael were drafted to ‘donate’ to the entertainment cause.  As it seems that we’ve done for most of the past two weeks, we stayed up really late; and didn’t get much sleep while having fun with the late night chat time with the other teens and tweens.

That should be enough for tonight, but we really are due for a major update; so maybe we’ll get around to that tomorrow night – after our guests head for their homes sometime tomorrow.  We do need to get going now, so stay tuned for that; and we’ll get back to the hot summer adventures with most of our favorite people!

Until next time, this little blast from your near or distant past is written for you with love from Ethan and Ehlana Proctor – twin junior Magi Masters of the Light!
