Happy 9th Birthday, Ricky Taylor!
Brianna appreciates Ricky a lot today – because Zack and Eli are at his party and camping night! We can’t say that our day has been impacted very much, but it was a bit quieter during Brianna and Faith’s ball practice.
Our family top news of the day is Cassie’s and Michael’s first day of classes. We did a video chat with them at breakfast to wish them the best, but they don’t really need that; and we’re still mostly-happy that they are officially in their last year away from us.
Here at home, the top stories for teens and some kids is the first day of training camp for the football team and tryouts for the cheer squad. We biked over to the school a couple of times to check out the action there, but we spent most of the morning at the lab or archives; and then we played with Naomi, Aiden, and a gang of our friends. We biked the trails at the park; swam whenever we wanted to cool down; and filled in the fun gaps with back yard or park games. We checked out the Shelties’ ball practice for a while; Mom and Dad had four tweens for dinner; and then our evening included a group Magi lesson with Mom before Naomi and Aiden headed for their homes and family business work in the office for a couple of hours. Bath or Jacuzzi time followed the work; and now we’re winding down toward nap time with a bit of bedtime computing and twin chat fun.
We’re thinking a lot about family and friends tonight, but don’t really want to get into any bonus commentary; so we’ll save that up for later in the coming week or two – especially when family will be a big part of the fun heading into the last holiday weekend of the summer. Stay tuned for that while we wrap this up and eventually head off to dreamland; since we do want to keep up on our sleep this week and be ready for whatever adventures are ahead of us.
