Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - August 23, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

Congratulations, Christina and Josiah – you’re pregnant!

That is the top family and hometown news, and since we are thinking about cousins and babies today; let’s do a journal update on that tonight!

With Christina in the news, we should start with her daughter, Mariah.  Mom has her own archive for our youngest Magi Master, and while we don’t mention it here; Mom leads Mariah’s training program – for everything that Christina or Josiah can’t do with her for obvious reasons.  We have already heard that Mariah is very happy about the baby news; and we are looking forward to finding out just how special her baby brother or sister will be!

We’ll go with Violet and Dillon next.  One-year-old Ryan is fun and awesome; and they’re all getting ready for their newest addition to the family – due in early-October.  Mom isn’t as-busy with Violet this time around since our cousin already knows the prenatal training program; so we’ll simply report that mother and baby are both doing great; and Ryan is definitely going to have an amazing baby sister!

Continuing with the group of best friends, Jake and Stephanie are very busy with their kids.  Sierra might be heading toward the terrible two’s very fast, but she isn’t acting terrible at all; and is really getting to be fun now that’s she’s mobile and interested in playing with, well, pretty much everyone.  At four months, Stuart is getting to the point where he’s sleeping more and life is easier for his parents – and everyone helping him.  While we haven’t mentioned them specifically all that often in our journals, they are often included in the babysitting groups of younger kids – with Sophia often in charge of them while we’re helping out with the other younger kids.  We are expecting more babysitting in the coming years; so expect to hear more about them as they’re old-enough for both babysitting and staying overnight with the kids that we are already keeping for camping or sleepovers.

Rebecca and Lucas aren’t quite part of her older brother’s group of best friends, but they are closer now thanks to shared parenting of babies.  Luke is three-months-old now, and we see him the least because he spends a lot of his time out on the farm.  Rebecca spends some time at the Pizzeria, but Jen also basically has full-time help all summer; and then Rebecca and Jen will work out what they’ll do this fall and winter as Rebecca returns to work and Jen gets ready for some time off with her baby by December.  There are some people around here dealing with surprise about Jen’s motherhood, but we’re sure that Jen and Garrett will be amazing parents; and Jen really wants her kids to be close to the same age as her best friend’s children.

Mitch and Lynn Bassett are cousins and friends with Jake and Stephanie; and they’re aligned with parenting too.  Lynn is also expecting their second child in December; so their son and daughter will also be in the same school years as Sierra and Stuart.  We’ll guess that the cousins will be friends too; though it is always possible that they could be more like Leah and Zack or Eli – rivals as much as friends.

We could keep going on this for a long time, since we do seem to be in a phase of young adults starting families of their own; and we can possibly thank the pandemic for getting that started while so many of those couples had so much extra time at home during the lockdowns and work-at-home months! ;^)

We don’t want to do that, but will offer more around the holiday weekend – at least for our family; so stay tuned for that while we move on to our own news of the day.

We had a play morning at the lab or archives after Tai Chi by the river and an easy-breakfast.  Mom had a picnic lunch ready for us to take with us for the afternoon play time with our friends; and then we followed that up with the usual ball practices and Pizzeria pizza picnic dinner.  We had fun with all of that; and now we’re home to get cleaned up and changed before heading over to Aiden’s house for a sleepover.  Camping was an option, but we decided against that; since we expect to have another blast of camping heading into the holiday weekend; and we still want a break from that after the week at the riding camp.

We’re done with the showers and have our bags packed, so that’s all for this report; and we need to get over to Aiden’s – and collect Naomi along the way.

Yes, we are in a hurry; and co-ed cuddling for the rest of the night will definitely be part of our entertainment plan for the rest of the night!  We’ll write about that tomorrow night, but fun with our friends is calling; so we’re out of here!

Until next time, this little blast from your near or distant past is written for you with love from Ethan and Ehlana Proctor – twin junior Magi Masters of the Light!
