Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - August 2, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 9th Birthday, Drew Spencer!

Drew’s special day gets a mention because Zack, Eli, and a bunch of their friends are at Drew’s party; and won’t be home again tonight.  Before we get to the rest of the news from today-so-far; let’s back up to the rest of the story from yesterday.

We’ve been getting really hot weather so far this week, and that allowed us to spend most of our day outdoors.  The entertainment highlight of our daytime adventures was a bike ride to our favorite caves; a picnic lunch while there; and an hour or so of exploring those caves.  We were home in time to catch parts of Brianna and Faith’s ball practice – along with a swim break at the park; and then we needed to get ready for the anniversary dinner.  Cassie and Michael were around by then too, so we also helped out with unpacking their car before we all took turns getting cleaned up and ready to go to the Inn.  The dinner party was awesome; Jacob had special dishes for one of the meal options; and we spent most of that time with the other tweens, teens, and the youngest ‘cousins’ that we were in-charge of for the rest of the evening.

The young adults probably had the most fun at dinnertime; and then our evening was busy as we watched the kids.  Our evening entertainment included a swim for most of the campers; an outdoor movie; and the camping that we eventually got around to after the babies and toddlers were picked up by grandparents or other relatives while their parents all got to have a kid-free night.  We stayed up late again; and at least four of us got away with a co-ed camping night.

Our morning was better when we started out the day with Cassie and Michael joining us for Tai Chi by the river; breakfast was another crazy adventure; and then we packed up tents and gear because we’re all ready for at least one or two nights of indoor sleeping.  We worked on that and other chores until lunchtime; Cassie and Michael played with us for a few hours this afternoon; and they had a gang of kids and teens with them for the biking on the trails around town, the swimming, and some back yard games.  We moved on from there to the usual Tuesday ball practices and Pizzeria pizza picnic dinner; Cassie and Michael joined us for that too – while also bringing Sierra along for the picnic; and now we need to share them with his family for a while.  They will be back in time for a movie in the lounge, but we only have Naomi, Aiden, Jayden, and Sophia with us for the night.  Sophia was added so that she can spend time with Michael and Cassie too, and we’ll have Jaimie, Kaitlyn, and their boyfriends here for that movie, but the rest of the cousins are elsewhere for the night.  We’re back from the park and taking turns getting cleaned up; so this update is happening now because we won’t have time for it later – if we even manage to stay awake through an entire movie.  Junior Magi Masters run out of steam now and then; and we’re close to that point now.

It’s also time to wrap this up and move on to getting ready for our evening plans, so that’s all for now; and we’re out of here and back to the ‘real’ world!

Until next time, this little blast from your near or distant past is written for you with love from Ethan and Ehlana Proctor – twin junior Magi Masters of the Light!
