Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - June 6, 2021

Ethan and Ehlana:

Our campfire last night ended up being larger than planned – mostly because we drew a small crowd when we ended up entertaining half the neighborhood with our music.  We had a lot of fun with that, but then we also led the way for ending the campfire by eleven o’clock so that we could move on to our camping adventure.  The co-ed cuddling and sleepover parts of our night were top highlights too, but we also had to deal with two ‘raids’ by Zack, Eli, Caleb, and Sebastian; since their camping night at the Carrington’s home had been approved and they took advantage of limited parental supervision to annoy Ehlana and Naomi.  We don’t want to get into details of that tonight; so let’s move this update along.

Tai Chi by the river with the extra exercise buddies made for a fun start this morning; breakfast with our weekend guests was great too; and then we stayed on the sidelines at church while the top news of the day was Ryan’s first introduction to our church and community.  Violet, Dillon, and their parents and grandparents were at the center of that round of love, happiness, and support; and we’re still okay with waiting until life calms down for our cousins before taking more turns spending time with Ryan.  We are heading into the right age for being babysitters; so we’re sure that Violet and Dillon will be happy to have us help them out on a regular basis! ;^)

Moving along again, Martin, Kimberly, and Dawn arrived for their first visit with Ryan by lunchtime.  They were able to have a post-church visit with him before we helped to feed our family-and-friends’ gang in the Carrington-Everett back yards; and then we spent most of the afternoon helping out with keeping our younger cousins and some friends entertained while the adults in the family were busy with baby-related fun.  Dad also had some work to do in the office, but he took regular breaks and didn’t miss out on too-much of the fun.  We played at the park, biked the trails, and played in the water a bit too – though the water is still cool-enough to keep us from longer swims or other water games.  Going to the buffet dinner at the Inn was the last event of the day for our collective family, but we also helped out with packing up and loading vehicles before going to the Inn so that our weekend guests could hit the road right after dinner.  We were with the kids for that meal too; enjoyed the always-awesome food; and then the goodbyes were fairly-short; since our aunt, uncle, and cousins really wanted to get home early-enough to catch up on some sleep before going back to work in the morning.  The only exceptions for the travelers tonight are Grandpa Richard and Grandma Carrie, but they aren’t here with us tonight – they’re spending the night with Grandma and Grandpa so that they can have a longer visit with them before heading home again tomorrow – or possibly on Tuesday.

Since we got home tonight, Dad has been working in the office again; we’ve just finished our bath or Jacuzzi time; and helped with some chores before that – including getting loads of laundry started and cleaning guest bedrooms and baths; since we won’t be able to help Mom with that tomorrow while at school.  That isn’t exciting or interesting, and we don’t really have anything else to add for this update; so we’re going to wrap it up and eventually go and get some sleep.  We’re not quite ready to do that yet, but will be starting our final tests week in the morning; so we won’t keep our bedtime twin chat going for too-much longer.  Compared to the past few days, a week of tests at school won’t be very exciting, but we are going to be busy; and even junior Magi Masters don’t get early-warning when something really exciting is going to happen.

Let’s hope that I didn’t just jinx us with that comment, but it is also time to move on; so, until next time...
