Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy Father’s Day to all of our favorite Dads!
We had extra exercise buddies for Tai Chi by the river this morning; Mom and Dad hosted a special breakfast that included some of those favorite fathers and our best friends’ families; and then the Dads at our church got to enjoy the annual mini-service at church that Pastor Martha happily shared with us before we were set free at least a half-hour sooner than for normal Sundays! The Ayres’ members of our family hosted the barbeque lunch that followed some late-morning play time that included some swimming and back yard games for most of us; and then Dad had to spend his afternoon working in the office.
Family-and-friends play time continued all afternoon for the rest of us and included biking, park playground adventures, canoeing, and more swims in the river; and then we split up to get ready for the late buffet dinner at the Inn. Miranda and Stephanie booked three buffets for Father’s Day, but we went with the last one so that our favorite store owners and workers could join us. That was an awesome last blast of fun; and then we came home with Mom and Dad without extra guests; and have had a quiet evening since then. The bath or Jacuzzi time just ended; and now we’re winding down toward nap mode and ready to catch up on our sleep for a night. We might have camped again tonight, but there is a risk of thunderstorms overnight; and we decided to stay inside instead. Naomi’s and Aiden’s parents wanted to spend some time with them too, but we plan on doing a lot of camping and sleepovers this summer; so our parents will have to work around that plan to get as much kid-time as they need. ;^)
Before we wrap this up, we should mention that Cassie has been busy getting ready for the start of her mid-term exams this weekend, and while we haven’t written about it lately, Michael and Tim are still working hard to get ready for football season. Tim and Rowen are on the way to their townhouse tonight too; and will be there off-and-on for the rest of the summer as Michael and Tim also get involved with the actual team training camps. We have no doubt that they’ll make their college team as starters, since they really are that good; so they’re sure to have an awesome summer and senior year at college too.
That’s enough for tonight, and we really should catch up on our sleep to be ready for all of the fun we’re going to have during our first week of summer holidays; so, until next time...
