Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - October 4, 2020

Ehlana and Ethan:

We’re home again, and while we had a blast with Cassie, Michael, and their friends; we’re also glad to be back.

Continuing from our last report; the movies and cuddle time last night was great – and we stayed up too-late.  That didn’t keep us from enjoying the co-ed sofa sleepover; another chilly Tai Chi workout behind the townhouse; and the rest of the morning fun with Cassie, Michael, Rowen, and Tim.  Our breakfast was a snack; and then we eventually met up with the parents for a brunch at the Grill and Griddle.  Cassie and Michael still had a lot of weekend studying to get done, so that meal was our last event of the weekend with them; and then we were on the road for home before noon while they headed for the college library and their study group plans.

The trip home was entertaining, but uneventful; we had visits with Naomi’s and Aiden’s parents once in town; and then we hosted a family dinner that our grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins joined us for so that we could trade weekend home and travel stories.  Dad had work to get done tonight, so our family time ended early; we did some studying and a Magi lesson with Mom; and then it was time to hit the tub or Jacuzzi.  The tub time just ended; and we’re pretty much ready to call it a night and get some sleep.

Before we do that; let’s add a couple of pandemic notes – including an update on President Trump.  Current expectations are that he’ll be released from the hospital tomorrow; and that he’ll make a full recovery.  We expected that, but while we wish that everyone could recover from this virus; we can’t avoid pointing out that there is a vast difference in the quality of health care for the billionaires and their families compared to the average person.  That’s even more-obvious when we’ve had two-million new cases for the third week in a row and daily deaths still average five-thousand.

We aren’t going to get into a long commentary on the pandemic or politics related to it tonight.  We’ve had an awesome weekend; loved the chance to spend time with our favorite collegians; and now it’s time to get some sleep and be ready for another school and work week.  The fun is going to continue too, so while we get some sleep now; stay tuned to read all about our upcoming fall and Halloween adventures.  We’re sure that we’re going to have a blast – even with all of the ongoing coronavirus-related restrictions.
