Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - October 10, 2020

Ehlana and Ethan:

The blast of rides and games themed fun yesterday afternoon and evening was awesome, but once the teens took over the park; we were okay with coming home for a campfire and co-ed camping night.  Naomi and Aiden teamed up with us for the musical highlights of the campfire; and we were apparently good-enough to attract some attention from our neighbors – either with extra visitors or applause from back porches.  Don’t expect to see us as the next big YouTube sensation, but we do love music as much as Cassie and Michael do; and we’ll modestly suggest that we have some talent to go along with our enthusiasm. ;^)

Moving along, we had family and friends with us for the campfire, but it wrapped up by ten-thirty; since the parents wanted to catch up on sleep ahead of the busiest fall festival day.  We were okay with heading for our tent once ready for bed; and the cuddle and bedtime chat time didn’t really last long before we got started on the co-ed cuddle-and-sleeping part of our night.

There is really no way to express just how awesome we feel about the amazing weather for the festival; and that’s as-true for our morning Tai Chi workouts by the river.  Getting to enjoy that quiet start to our day with temperatures near-sixty in October is special; and we’re grateful for each of those blessings that most of our friends don’t even think about.  A hot breakfast was pretty good too; so we certainly couldn’t complain when Mom and Dad wanted us to do some chores before we all headed for the park and festival for the rest of the day.  Naomi and Aiden took that time to spend with their own families – either at home or the bakery; and then they met up with us again at the park in time for a round of rides before lunch.

Going on about the festival midway, games, shows, and other events isn’t really something we feel the need to do.  As always, the ‘what’ we’re doing isn’t as important as the people we’re sharing those adventures with – though we can assure you that extreme rides are a lot better than weeding gardens or other messy chores when it comes to sharing with our favorite people!  We were with most of our parents and some aunts, uncles, and cousins for lunch; went back to the extreme gaming and rides for a while; caught an afternoon show on the main festival stage; and then played some more.  Grandma and Grandpa took a turn with us for part of the late-afternoon and they had dinner with us too, but then they moved on to spend time with the Carringtons and some of their own friends this evening while we split our time between the rides and the family-friendly dance.

Mom and Dad once again had us make room at the park for other visitors by nine o’clock – just a few minutes ago; and we’re currently getting ready for one more camping night while Naomi and Aiden are taking their turns for bath or Jacuzzi time.  We all definitely need to get cleaned up – especially since Naomi doesn’t appreciate Ethan as much as usual when he’s fragrant in an unpleasant way.  That’s the main reason for why we’re not doing another campfire; though we may decide to watch a movie in the tent before getting around to sleeping.

We’ll see how tired we are by the time we get out to the tent.

That’s all of the news we have for today – since we’re also going to stay happy and not cover any serious news at least until tomorrow night.  There is still one more day for the festival; and that will include a church service at the park because the weather is going to cooperate for that.  We’ll get one more chance for extreme rides and games tomorrow afternoon, and that hasn’t really gotten old yet; since we haven’t been able to go to any amusement parks all year.  Let’s not go there, since even that isn’t a happy thought.  We’ll be thankful for all of the amazing adventures we are getting to have; and enjoy the fun and excitement with our family and friends.

Until next time, this is Ehlana and Ethan Proctor; live from the hidden home of the Magi of the Light – and May the Magi Force be with you!
