Ehlana and Ethan:
The fall festival is officially over now, and while we aren’t going to bed anytime soon; this update is early because we’re going to be wrapping up our weekend with a short study-work night and then an early bedtime so that we can be ready to get up early and see Dad off on his trip to the city.
Our final co-ed camping night of the weekend was awesome; and our adventures for the final day of the festival have been really great too. The special church service in the park was the highlight of our morning; and then we had one last blast of fun on the midway rides and playing some games – though we gave away all of our prizes from those games this time to other kids. We’re just getting cleaned up before dinner – and gathering our gear for studying in the office; so it seemed like a good time to multi-task our report for the day. The Inn is still not having Sunday buffets, but we’re not doing the usual festival weekend visit for a meal today because they’ve reserved the dining rooms for festival workers and volunteers only – and those lucky people are getting a free meal in thanks for their efforts this week – and longer for many of the volunteers. Mom and Dad are volunteers, but that’s mostly been in behind-the-scenes ways this year; and they didn’t want to take up spots for those meals today.
We’re okay with the alone time with Dad anyway; since he will be gone for the week. An easy-meal is likely for the best too; since we have had a lot to eat this weekend; and could survive with a day or three of fasting – if we didn’t have the blessing of hyper-metabolisms! ;^)
Okay, that’s all for today. We’ll get back to more-normal news again tomorrow, so if you’re reading this at bedtime in our future; flip the digital page; and we’ll try to remember to bore you to sleep with the latest world and local drama and the pandemic statistics that are definitely snooze-worthy for most of our friends. Life is sure to get a bit quieter starting tomorrow too, but with Halloween up next on the schedule; that really will just be temporary.
Let’s just hope that we won’t have any Dark Magi-related scary excitement again this year – and we won’t jinx ourselves by writing more on that comment. We’ll stay happy and be grateful for what has been one of our best-ever fall festival weekends; and leave the scary thoughts for others.
