Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - October 15, 2020

Ehlana and Ethan:

We’ve had a really good day, but a long one too; so we’re going to keep this short and then go get some sleep.

Our day began with Tai Chi by the river – at Aiden’s house; and then his Mom was with us for the morning to supervise the first half of our home school day.  Mom got home in time to drop off a fast food lunch fix for Aunt Leanne; she joined us for lunch; and then our studying moved over to our house for the afternoon.  We worked until two-thirty – and had our assignments for the day done by then; followed that up with a music practice for four of us; and then Naomi and Aiden headed home or to the bakery while we went to play at the lab.  Mom joined us after doing some of the chores she wanted to get done at home; brought dinner; and we stayed at the lab until a half-hour ago.

We had fun tonight and got a lot done thanks to some time-phasing help from Mom that allowed us to get more work in the archives and a complete lab test finished.  That added to the length of our day by the equivalent of a few hours; and explains why we’re tired.  The only news we’ll add before wrapping this up is that Cassie and Michael are glad that they only have a day left for their mid-term exams; and just finished their last study session that was mostly to help out their friends for the last round of tests they have tomorrow.

Finally, we hit the thirty-nine million confirmed cases milestone today; and the numbers are once again going in the wrong direction for our country.  We hoped for better, but expected more problems through the fall and winter; and that is proving to be true in many northern-hemisphere countries.  That’s happening despite widespread attempts to control the spread of the virus.  To all of the naysayers; we’d suggest that you consider where we’d be this fall if we did nothing at all.  Sure, this is history for anyone reading our journals in the future, but in a way; that’s a point worth making too; since people have a habit of ignoring the lessons of history.

We don’t want to get into that sort of thing tonight.  We just want to go get some sleep – so we will!

This is Ehlana and Ethan Proctor; live from the hidden home of the Magi of the Light – and May the Magi Force be with you!
