Ehlana and Ethan:
The rest of our birthday was awesome – from
the pizzeria pizza and sides dinner through the play time; campfire; and
camping adventure. We did not get to
have co-ed camping – for the kids, but Cassie and Michael were only two of the
teen or adult couples doing the chaperoning for the junior campers; and those
couples were in co-ed tents-for-two.
Cassie, Michael, and May are the top news
story today because they’ve headed for the townhouses – possibly both of them;
since May could stay in Rowen and Tim’s townhouse so that Cassie and Michael
can have some alone time. They left
early this morning, and Cassie is going to study with her friends ahead of
mid-terms next week – and during them; since they don’t plan on coming back
again until the holiday weekend. That’ll
be a nice break for May too – the best they’ve managed to come up with for her
since traveling and sightseeing still has a lot of risks right now.
While they’ve been on the road and then
getting settled into their townhouse again – and Cassie has continued to attend
her online lectures whether on the road or at their ‘away’ home; we’ve had
another play day. That started with Tai
Chi by the river after seeing Cassie, Michael, and May on their way out of
town; breakfast was a socially-distanced, easy-meal that included Olde Bakery
treats; and then most of the ‘campground’ was cleaned up with parental and teen
help. We left our tent up; and will be
doing another camping night with Naomi and Aiden – a co-ed camping adventure
this time! ;^)
We’re splitting up for dinner with our
families now – which is why we’re doing this update now instead of later, but
that’s mostly so that Naomi and Aiden can spend a bit of time with their
parents, brother, and sister; and we’re having another easy-meal with just Mom
and Dad. We don’t have any major
entertainment plans for tonight, and after staying up too-late last night; we
may just hang out in the tent; watch shows or movies on an iPad; and enjoy some
quiet cuddle time before we crash and nap for the night.
Before we move on to helping Mom with
making dinner; we wanted to add a couple of comments from yesterday that we
didn’t write about; and related to Cassie’s studies. She couldn’t skip her lectures or assignments
yesterday just for our birthday; though we think that is very-unfair of her
Professors! She didn’t want to miss out
on all of the fun, though, so she came to Quarry Lake with us; and did her
lectures online while fitting in cameo moments of fun around the lectures and
studying. That got her out of any work
for the meals or taking care of the younger kids, but didn’t leave her with
much actual time to play either. That
included after dinner; though she was outdoors with us; and worked on her
computer all evening. Multi-tasking that
work with the games, campfire, and the rest made her a spectator more than a
participant most of the time, but she was there for us; and we’re glad that she
could at least do that much with us when she likely should have just
concentrated on her work.
We wouldn’t want to be responsible for
messing up her perfect academic record! ;^)
That’s all for today, so we’ll wrap this
up; and get back to enjoying the rest of another really good play day.
