Ehlana and Ethan:
We’ve had another hot day that was
mostly-sunny, but started out with some fog; and included a couple of
thunderstorm breaks. The wet parts of
the day didn’t get in the way of our chores around the house or yard, but did
cut short our outdoor play time this afternoon.
We also decided to have another night with our own families tonight
instead of taking the chance on a dry night; but then that was as much to do
with it being Father’s Day tomorrow. Our
play time still included swimming and biking along with some back yard games;
and we’ve had a quiet evening since then – mostly because Cassie is still doing
a lot of work with her weekend assignments; and that’s also related to her
interest in time off to spend with Dad tomorrow.
That’s pretty much all we have for tonight
from here, but we wanted to mention the new record-high daily new coronavirus
cases from yesterday; and the reality that we hit one-million new cases this
week. We still haven’t had a coronavirus
case here in town, but we’re not getting complacent, and contrary to a lot of
the reports in the media; this pandemic is still much-closer to the beginning
of the crisis than the end – even if someone came up with an effective vaccine tomorrow. We’re not going to start a rant tonight, but
we don’t like a lot of what we see and hear about happening here in our country
and around the world. There are a lot of
bad decisions being made, but since we have no control at all over that; we’ll
hope for the best and collectively do what we can through the family businesses
and charities to help with all of the new problems around the world.
That’s all for tonight. We’re not staying up late, but Father’s Day
is going to be different tomorrow – starting with a quiet morning; since we’ll
be attending the evening service at church instead of one of the morning
services. We still expect the annual
short services for our favorite Dads, but we’ll let you know how that goes; and
it would still mean a very long day for Pastor Martha if her husband and son
also get the day off. Stay tuned, since
the next couple of days will be fun!
