Ehlana and Ethan:
The bad news is that we – the kids – didn’t
get to go on the annual end-of-school shopping trip to the city for summer
clothes. The good news is that Mom and
Aunt Leanne are very good shoppers; so the clothes they picked out for us are
awesome! We didn’t completely miss out
on any shopping adventure, since there was an extra-special, kid and
teen-friendly sale at most stores here at home, but that was more-interesting
for the girls than the guys; and we didn’t really buy very much. Our Moms will do that this weekend; since
they collectively want to support our favorite store owners during a tough
year, but that’s for different clothes and gear most of the time anyway; since
our local stores don’t try to compete with the big chains when that would just
be impossible.
Shopping was the top news of the day around
here, but we also had some play time; and the next-top story was the return of
rain to the area – which is also why we packed up our tent; and will be taking
a break for a day or three from the nightly camping adventures. The first thunderstorm rolled through late
this afternoon, but we were indoors by then – and split up with our own
families. It feels strange after a week
of camping, but the comforts of home feel pretty good too – especially the
Jacuzzi or tub time that we really needed again. Sure, we can get rid of the dirt and sweat
while swimming in the river too, but that just isn’t the same; so it’s nice to
feel really clean again – a truth that any experienced camper can confirm.
Moving along, we had any easy-dinner while
Mom was still away, but she wasn’t late getting home – and was here before our
bath or Jacuzzi breaks. We helped with
unloading the van and truck – Mom and Aunt Leanne took both; and then we only
had a short visit before getting to the bath time – mostly because Mom was
tired and wanted a long soak in her Jacuzzi too. We’re also not going to stay up late tonight
because we’re tired, and don’t actually have anything to add for this report;
so we’ll just wrap it up now and move on to that nap time. Cassie and Michael are staying up late so
that she can study, but May will be turning in early too – once she’s finished
taking her turn in the Jacuzzi. Cassie
and Michael have, apparently, taken turns with May for using the Jacuzzi while
we’ve been camping, but that isn’t even a thought we want to take with us into
dreamland tonight – or ever; so we’re out of here! ;^)
