Ehlana and Ethan:
We have control of our journals again, but
will keep this short; since we’re going to be busy for the rest of the day –
starting with helping Mom out with making dinner. Dad is going to be home in time to eat with
us; so it will be nice to have him home again – even if he will be busy for the
rest of the week too.
We’ve had another hot, awesome-weather day;
we’ve played as usual pretty much since being set free after breakfast; and we’re
spending even more time in the river to stay cool as it stays hot and the water
gets warmer. Social distancing with our
friends is still required, but we can still do that while spread out in the
river – just as we take turns on the trails in groups or with anything else we
want to do while also trying to hang out together. Group camping is something we’re looking at
and discussing with our parents, but nothing has been decided yet, and there
could be rain in our near-term forecast; so we won’t likely make any plans on
that before next week.
Before we move on to the cooking and
pre-dinner chores; we’ll also add one bit of news that is a bit sad for us –
that there won’t be a summer shopping trip – at least for the kids and
teens. Some Moms – including ours – will
be making a trip to the city for clothes and supplies, but won’t be taking us
along; and will be doing their best to avoid the crowds at the stores. Even in Crystal Springs there haven’t been
many coronavirus cases, but there are new clusters of cases happening all over
the country as the lockdowns are lifted and life begins to return to normal; so
we don’t want to be part of those problems here at home. That is going to stink when it comes to a
serious lack of summer adventures away from home, but we’re young; and will
survive the disappointment.
Okay, we need to go; so that’s all for
today. We’ll be having at least one more
camping night with Naomi and Aiden tonight; and then we’ll have to let you know
whether we’ll need to take rain breaks through the weekend. The hot and sunny forecasts have been
accurate this week, but we’ll hope for more mistakes when it comes to rain –
even though the farmers really want more rain right now and don’t care whether
that gets in the way of our play time or camping fun!
