Ethan:
Welcome home, Cassie, Michael, Madelana,
and Stefan!
Before I get to that part of the story; let’s
start with where I left off last night and go from there.
We watched the new Mary Poppins movie –
again; I loved the cuddle time with Naomi and chat with Ehlana and our friends;
and then we eventually went to sleep – in our beds; since Mom and Dad were
already sleeping by then; and we didn’t want to actually do anything that might
get us into trouble. ;^)
Tai Chi and breakfast for six was great; we
were only given a few chores; and then Mom set us free to grab our bikes and go
out to play for the day. We took snacks,
drinks, and a picnic lunch with us; biked the trails and played at the park
with our friends; and had on visit to the Emporium for snack treats. We were home by the time our four college
teens got home; helped out with the unloading the car work; and then had fun
together for a few hours – including dinner with a small gang of guests and
chat time in the living room after dinner.
I should add that the ‘we’ didn’t include Naomi and Aiden. They’ve apparently spent too much time with
us this week; and their families wanted them back.
Cassie and Michael did a bedtime pizzeria
pizza snack run that took a little while because they ended up talking weddings
with Rebecca, Lucas, Jen, and Garrett; and I’m only mentioning that because it
reminds me to include the belated news that Jen and Garrett got engaged
recently and they’re going to get married this summer too. Ehlana and I will be out of the loop for that
wedding, but we will be in on some of the early wedding fun while Cassie’s home
as they really get going on the wedding planning. A recap of that visit was included in the
bedtime chat time part of our pizza snack fun; our guests went home after that;
and we headed for our beds. Cassie and
Michael made sure that Madelana and Stefan had everything they needed for the
night; had a bedtime chat with Ehlana and me in Ehlana’s room; and now I’m
ready to wrap this up and get some sleep.
It’s been another really good day; so I
only wish that our break from school was a bit longer.
Wishing won’t make that happen, so I’ll
rest up; and enjoy our last day of the March break – and hope that we get to
spend lots of that time with Cassie and Michael.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
Ethan has the highlights covered; so I’ll
only add a couple of things.
First, on the Jen and Garrett engagement
news; I’ll add that Jen is going to quit school in May – though she’ll earn a two-year
diploma in restaurant and hotel management; and could decide to continue on
with the rest of the Bachelor Degree program part-time if she wants to do that
in the future. We’ve heard that her
parents are disappointed, but Ethan and I actually agree with her change of
plans – and that isn’t just because the pizzeria will be open year-round two
years sooner than planned too!
That’s just an awesome bonus! ;^)
Next up, part of that pizzeria visit
wedding talk included Cassie and Michael asking Rebecca and Lucas to be in
their wedding party; since they were together – and won’t be here next week for
any of the wedding planning meetings.
They’re standing up for Jen and Garrett too; so that’s going to make for
a very busy summer for them too.
Finally, it’s been fun to be around
Madelana and Stefan as they get their first impressions of our home town and
family. Some of that is similar to what
it was like for May’s first visit, but there are differences; and we are
looking forward to getting to know them better while they’re here – and get
another chance to impress Cassie and Michael’s friends while also adding to the
‘legends’ that will keep them entertained once they get back to school again.
Okay, that’s all I have for tonight, and I’m
ready to get some sleep too; so I will.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
