Ethan and Ehlana:
We’re feeling pretty good tonight after a busy day at school that included our team practices; another Pizzeria pizza dinner at the studio that we combined with studying and recording three songs. That included the bonus song we added to our six-song plan; and our favorite studio owners and techies are very happy with our music. They’ll still need to do their work on the recordings to turn them into the final extended play and singles and videos, but our work is done; and we’re looking forward to seeing and hearing the final song mixes!
It rained today, so Tai Chi was indoors and I got wet during the football practice, but Ehlana only had rain issues for the walks to and from school and had her cheer squad practice in the gym. Our classwork today didn’t include anything newsworthy; and there isn’t really even much teen drama happening right now – though that is sure to change as we close in on the fall festival and Halloween with all of the dating opportunities and potential for messing up relationships. Ehlana knows that I’m trying to be polite by not adding in that it will be the guys that will be most-likely to mess up with the girls, but then that isn’t news; and shouldn’t need to be specified.
The studio time was the highlight of our day; and we are blessed to share those adventures with our four best friends. Since we don’t mention it very often, let’s add that Sophia and Aaron are extremely-talented violinists; we all have talent for singing and harmonies; Naomi is an amazing musician; and most of our friends don’t know just how talented Aiden is for all things percussion. He doesn’t show off to the extent of his abilities, but Aiden is also among the fastest drummers in the world – and that’s before he even adds in a bit of Magi power. He has to be careful with that, since he’d break his drums if he pushed his Magi talents too-far – though that’s true for any of us with our musical instruments.
We were at the studio until a bit after ten o’clock; Mom did the rounds to get us to our homes; and then we did a Magi lesson and some charity work in the office. A time phase allowed us to do all of that and still be up here in our rooms by midnight; and now we’re winding down fast with the usual twin chat and computer checks.
The top news today is likely the ongoing meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. President Trump addressed the assembly yesterday, but we’ve waited to comment on that speech or any of the others we’ve kept up with so far, but all we’ve learned is that our world leaders continue to prove their collective incompetence. Even the talk about peace on any front has the leaders on each side of the conflicts talking past each other and not actually making progress to physically end the fighting on the ground. Most of those leaders are also talking about how much more money they’re spending on weapons and ammunition; and no consideration is being made either for how to pay for everything or the things that can’t be done while all of those resources are wasted.
Ehlana and I want to write about the arguments over environmental issues. Our leaders are idiots on this topic too; blame each other for the problems – or claim that we don’t have any problems at all. They also like to center the disagreements around climate change, but then that is intentional because it is much more difficult to argue the issues that are most-important. Pollution of all kinds is affecting our collective health; garbage is a growing problem as the world population grows; and we really need to deal with water and food safety as water sources and agricultural land is contaminated – often through the use of man-made toxins. We understand these issues very well, since we are involved with family businesses and charities that focus on solving local problems in different countries around the world; and Ehlana’s research often finds connections between environmental toxins and the diseases she wants to cure.
That’s enough for this update. It is getting late and we need to sleep while we can; so we’re out of here and off to dreamland right now.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
