Ethan, Naomi, Ehlana, and Aiden:
This update is coming to you from Naomi’s house; and Ehlana and Aiden are joining us via vid chat because they’re at Aiden’s house while I’m here and Mom is in Crystal Springs with Dad for a five-star sleepover.
Our day has been pretty good, but busy from Tai Chi by the river through our academic adventures and our various practices. Naomi and Ehlana had their cheer squad practice at lunchtime again and that will be normal for Tuesdays when they also have the school band practice after school. Aiden and I had our football practice while they were busy with the band, and we got a bit damp thanks to some afternoon showers. Naomi hosted our group of six for dinner and studying between those practices and our teen praise team practice this evening; and then we split up for the rest of the evening to now and through the rest of the night. Silkie is with Brianna and Lady tonight; and prefers the occasional sleepovers with her puppy-cousin. All of our various practices went well – even the one that Aiden and I got rained on while getting ready for our next game; and now we’re winding down toward our separate co-ed nap time.
Naomi and I spent some time with her parents and brother, but they’ve gone to bed; and we’re multi-tasking this update with the vid chat, computer checks, and listening to some music videos. Ehlana and Aiden didn’t get to his house until after his father was asleep, but they had a visit with his Mom and sister; and the rest of their current entertainment is only different from us because I’m doing the writing while they are spending more time on the co-ed cuddling. That is something that Naomi wants me to do instead of this too; so let’s wrap this up with a quick world news report.
Topping the news for us today, Israel has ramped up ground forces attacks in Gaza on the Palestinians despite the complaints from many countries around the world and a new declaration that they are committing a genocide from a United Nations commission that was just released. We think that it is hypocritical that our world leaders are not calling for a peacekeeping force to protect the Palestinians while insisting on that for Ukraine – and the situations aren’t even the same. To get an equal comparison, the Palestinians would need to have backers providing tens of billions of dollars worth of weapons and air defense systems and missiles they could use against the Israeli armed forces. We wish that there weren’t any conflicts or wars happening anywhere in the world; and want people to come together and demand better from all of our leaders.
That’s true for smaller conflicts, and for one example of that; we do not like what is happening near Venezuela where our navy has destroyed a second boat that our leaders claim was being used to transport narcotics. It doesn’t matter to us whether that is true or not, since we believe that people are innocent until proved guilty; so summarily killing them without trial and conviction – or even arrest and charges – is not only wrong but also an international crime. If we just blew up a boat full of innocents; that’s far-worse – not that anyone involved will ever be charged for any wrongdoing. We should be very glad that Venezuela doesn’t have the power to blow up our boats and sailors in retaliation. We don’t need to drag this out, but it isn’t very far from doing this sort of thing to other countries and their peoples to doing the same to our own people here at home. Nobody should want to see that happen here or anywhere else; and we should stop ordering these attacks and executions.
That’s enough for tonight. I have some quality co-ed cuddling to get to now; so that’s all for this report!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
