Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - September 17, 2025

Ethan and Ehlana:

We had a fun start to our day when Naomi and I met up with Ehlana and Aiden for Tai Chi by the river and ended up adding Cassie and Michael to the group for that workout!  That was awesome; we split up for breakfast; and then Ehlana and Aiden collected us along the way for the walk to school.  Our academic adventures included outdoor time thanks to another hot day, and we dodged any rain in the area.  We were happy with the changed forecast – especially during our football or cheer squad practices!  We had fun with those workouts too and then we went from the school to the Galleria for our second recording session.  Our plan for the session tonight included ordering in Pizzeria pizza and doing our homework as we went along with the various recordings because we spent more time tonight with individual, instrumental recordings.  It took about four hours to get everything done; and we completed another two songs.  We’ll likely get the final two songs we have planned recorded next week and have a jump on parts of that work recorded already.

Mom got home from Crystal Springs by noon and had lunch with Aunt Leanne and Claire, so she was with us at the studio too.  We came home with her and spent some time on a Magi lesson and family business work.  Time phasing was needed to get everything done, but it is still getting late too; so we’re ready to get some sleep soon.  We should report that Mom enjoyed her visit with Dad that included some shopping, dinner with the Malloys, and other news that we won’t write about at all because we’re pretending that we don’t know that our parents have ‘that’ kind of fun! ;^)

Instead of doing a world news update tonight, let’s comment on television entertainment.  The fall schedule is starting for the major networks, and while we don’t take much time to watch shows; it is something that gets talked about a lot at school; so we need to keep up with those stories and the weekly plot lines – even if we don’t watch the shows.  Fortunately for us, it is fairly-easy to do that online – just as we can keep up with world news and sports.  We don’t need to offer commentary about any single show, but we will mention that there is a trend this fall for re-makes and spin-offs that are happening because of some successes last year with shows like the Matlock reboot.  That example, by the way, is not making the rounds at school, but then kids and teens are not the target audience for any of those remember-when-life-was-better shows.  That part of the entertainment industry is changing anyway, and while we might be among the minority for teens watching the least amount of television; there are lots of teens that spend their entertainment hours on gaming or watching a lot of short media clips instead of television series.

Maybe we’ll offer more on that topic once we’re further into the fall season, but we’re tired and need to get some sleep now; so that’s all for this update.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
