Naomi, Ethan, Ehlana, Aiden, Sophia, and Aaron:
Ethan is busy cuddling with me; so I’ll take a turn with writing my favorite twins’ journal for the day. We’re teens, so the top story of the day is the second football game of the season; and the three players in this room had another good night while helping our team to the forty-two to nine win over Ayton. I think that quite a few of their teammates are surprised at how good Ethan is becoming as a Safety on defense, but it is true that he played a big part in keeping Ayton to just three field goals thanks to one interception and breaking up a handful of longer throws that have been, apparently, a big part of the Ayton team’s game strength. Ethan had two touchdowns, Aiden and Aaron had one each; and they all put up the best numbers of the night for both teams for either running or passing yards. I don’t want to diminish the efforts of the rest of the team, and Ethan and Aiden certainly can’t have their successes without Will’s help and talent at quarterback; and our own team’s success so far has a lot to do with making few mistakes on either side of the ball. The guys aren’t giving up sacks, fumbles, or interceptions; and that goes a long way toward keeping the advantage for field position and pretty much every other aspect of the game.
The guys won’t want me to skip over the sidelines action. Our cheer squad is small compared to the squads for more than half of our rivals, but we have some skills too; and I’ll humbly suggest that Ehlana, Sophia, and I are helping our squad to be the best it has been since Cassie and Rowen cheered for Michael, Tim, and their teams! Sure, we learned from them, but we’re doing our own thing too; and we’re adding in some tricks that normally require larger squads to pull off successfully. Our favorite boys are not all that excited about our popularity with the male spectators or players on the other team, but that goes with the territory; and they have nothing to worry about. I’ll also point out that they get a lot of attention from the girls around our ages; so it is good for them that I can report that they either don’t notice or pretend to ignore the attention they get from those other girls! I’m not worried, since I’ve long-since convinced the hometown girls that Ethan is mine; and I’ll do the same for any other girls he might meet between now and forever! ;^)
Moving along, since this is my first time taking a turn at writing this update for Ethan and Ehlana, I’ll mention that the first week of Grade Ten has gone well for me – and for Aaron and the rest of our classmates. We won’t be taking all of the same classes for the rest of our high school years, but only because we’ll be preparing for different college programs. That’s only one different optional for each of us this year; so it isn’t a big deal. The homework level is about the same so far compared to last year for us or for what our favorite Niners are getting this year, but we are hoping to do more of our studying with just the six of us so that we can get more done faster. Aaron and I are getting a bit more peer pressure to be part of a larger study group; so we’ll see how that goes for all of us.
The weather today didn’t end up being as wet as forecast, but there was some rain this afternoon; and it did end before game time. The biggest challenge we had today was all of the travel time – though it was more comfortable for the members of the cheer squad; since we have to deal with our own rides to the away games. The guys had a total of about four hours on their bus; and that was tougher for them on the way home after the game when they were tired and sore. For this game, my future parents-in-law were our drivers; and our collective parents are going to take turns with getting us to the away games – though my Mom won’t be able to take Friday nights off from the salon and we might not have much fun with the drives if my Dad brings Zack and Eli along for his turn at driving us! Ehlana and Sophia aren’t actually scared at that comment, but we won’t let facts get in the way of jokes about trading spots in the van for that trip with other girls on the squad.
It has been a long day between the academic adventures, game, and all of that driving; so we’re pretty much just relaxing now with the teen chat time, cuddling, and a movie that we’re not really watching. The co-ed nap time won’t be far off, but I want to mention that Ehlana had Sophia and I help her out with healing the boys after they got home from the school. We were here first, since we didn’t need to go to the school after getting back to town, but then we also stopped to pick up a Pizzeria pizza order and had Silkie out for a bedtime walk by the time they caught up with us. That healing session was a group effort and a bit of a group lesson too, but the guys appreciated the help with bruises and strained muscles; and we’re all happier now as we’re winding down. The pizza snack was great, and I’m not going to give the guys a hard time for how much they ate; since football players do burn a lot of calories during a game – and yes, that is significantly-more than we – the girls – burn as members of the cheer squad. Getting to have that kind of snack without other friends around still makes that easier for us, though, since at least some of our girlfriends would think that having more than one slice too much – and none of us stopped at one slice tonight. Food choices are really a minor bonus that goes with our unique little group, but I’d like to take this opportunity to mention that some of our friends are a bit jealous of us for having parental permission for our co-ed sleepovers – whether in this group or when we are split up in pairs. Ehlana wants me to add that there is a strong, statistical difference for that between Magi and non-Magi teen couples, but then getting to do this at all is a comparatively-new addition to teen life in our little town. We’ll all thank Cassie and Michael for helping us out with the precedent; and we’ll survive the jealousy from those friends and classmates that don’t have the same level of trust from their parents that we have with all of our parents.
That’s enough for our news, and it is late; so I’m going to wrap this up and participate more with the cuddling that has been one-sided for Ethan so far. We have another busy day ahead of us in just a handful of hours, so I’m going to enjoy the cuddle time for a bit longer; and then we all need to get some sleep so we’ll be ready for a chores day and then an early start to Miles Sheldon’s birthday because he wants to have a camping night as part of his birthday fun that will continue for most of Sunday too. Stay tuned for those stories; and we’ll get back to living those adventures.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
